A dental appt is not generally considered very high on a "look forward to" occasion. On the other hand, in my case, it is not one of dread either. I have had the good fortune to have chosen a dentist who is not only highly competent but one who is personable, puts one at ease and, most important to me,has a great sense of humour. He, in turn, has selected a competent staff who is also easy going, friendly and accomodating. I have recommended the practice to several friends, all who express the same satisfaction.
