Our dreams came true with the help of THE SMITH TEAM! We showed interest in buying a place four years ago when traveling to Maui. We developed a relationship with Greg, Ken, Melissa and Jeremy. What a team! We were not ready to pull the trigger at the time, but the Smith team kept us informed and in the loop regarding Maui real estate and available opportunities. In the beginning of 2013, we started engaging heavily to close on a home. We had a unique real estate challenge with our 1031 Exchange and the Smith team was there to guide us every step of the way. We put in an offer on a beautiful home and the offer was accepted. Unfortunately the seller had many challenges that we not able to overcome and the process took almost five months. The Smith team worked with us to overcome the hurdles presented by the seller and with time running out we realized we would not be able to close on the home. The Smith team very quickly helped us establish our plan B home purchase. During this period of time, the original home that we fell in love with four years ago became available and with 30 days left till our needed closing date, the Smith team pulled out all the stops and we were able to close and have the keys to our home before the end of the year. From the start of our search four years ago Greg said, “Whatever will happen was meant to be”. He was right! We are extremely happy with our purchase and the experience we had. The Smiths made us a part of their ohana and supported us from start to finish. Aloha. My wife and I have lived on Maui for four years and we have rented a condo until we decided to buy our house in Kihei. We had met Meghan a few times and gave her a call to discuss the possibilities of buying a condo. She was above and beyond what either of us expected from a realtor. We met with Meghan and told her what we were looking for in a condo. She lined up about 15 different ones for us to see from very basic to immaculate and amazing. Somewhere in the journey she opened up our eyes to consider a house versus a condo. We then looked at about ten houses. She was very knowledgable about every thing to do with Maui, real estate, condo associations, and she answered every question that we had. Which was quite a lot... Meghan helped us out and we put in five offers before we were accepted for our new house. We were outbid by cash offers each time. Maui being the small world capital, we knew the owners of the house that the we bought. They told us after the fact that the main reason that we won the bidding war was because the way Meghan had worded the offer. We were actually a few thousand dollars less than the other two offers in the bidding war. They felt more secure with her contract than that of her competitors. We are very thankful for all of the time and work that Meghan put into the tedious process of us finding our dream home. We are very happy here. We contracted with Chris Haywood to sell our rental condo in Maui. We live on the mainland and I was frankly concerned about how difficult it would be to sell property that was an ocean away. Chris was AMAZING. She handled everything and did an EXCELLENT job of keeping us informed. About the only thing I had to do was sign the papers (mostly electronic) and accept the offer. We purchased an investment condo with the help of Ken Smith and his family team at the beautiful Kahana Reef project in Maui. I asked endless questions which were always met with timely, knowledgeable, and courteous responses, every time. Ken was always looking out for our best interests in the way he provided unbiased recommendations on each unit and personally viewing and eliminating units that he knew were not a good fit on our behalf (we are from Canada.) I have been on their email update list for many years. Finally we found a REO property in both a location we were familiar with and listed at a starting price that made it worth our while. We had the benefit of both Ken's and Gregory's experience in dealing with banks in an REO situation. Their combined insight allowed us to win the bidding process, get a small concession from the Bank and close escrow in 20 days. Overall it was a remarkably quick and painless transaction. We began our property search online a year before we enlisted Lisa's expertise. We visited many real estate sites but found her & Mark's site was the most informative & user friendly. We travelled to the island twice to see homes with Lisa and the days were jam-packed. We looked on both the westside & Wailea, looking at many beautiful custom homes. She was always accommodating with her time whether by email, phone or on island with her. After a few disappointing false starts and Lisa reassuring us that we would find a home, we did indeed find the perfect place. I met Chris about 5 years ago at an open house..I was very impressed with her knowledge of the area and our personality's just clicked..I had met many agents on the island and being a real estate agent from California I was very picky..she never gave up! My wife and I have been visiting Maui for the last 30 years. On one of these occasions approximately 15 years ago we were introduced to Ken Smith and subsequently to the Smith Team. We purchased our first investment property on Maui 10 years ago with the assistance of Ken Smith and his family team. If you had 6 stars I would use them to recommend Lisa Oyama. We worked together to review condos from San Francisco and through each trip on island. She was excellent at showing me all the possibilities, helping me narrow down where and what would fit me best. If we saw a listing, I had the info and the input from her site visit immediately. Her knowledge of the properties was excellent, her instincts for my likes and needs, perfect. She helped me through three offers, constantly providing me with info to help me make good decisions, and eventually we closed on a short sale no less, with me getting one of the best prices in the complex. In one word FANTASTIC. We consider ourselves very lucky to have had the good fortune to have met Lisa Oyama and Mark Harbison. My wife and I had been researching properties in Hawaii for a number of years and had visited Oahu a year prior, but had not found any suitable properties. The following year we visited Maui and contacted Lisa and Mark. It was a whirlwind week visiting property after property. We were at once impressed with their professionalism honesty, trust and willingness to walk (literally at times ) that extra mile. Long story short. We met Lisa Oyama in 2005 and she helped us find investment property to build on. I found Lisa Oyama online when I first started thinking about retiring to Maui. We worked together for over a month via email before I made my trip out to look with 'boots on the ground'. She showed me about a dozen properties in a day and a half, one of which suited perfectly. We made an offer which was accepted withing hours. I've worked with Charlie Keller as my real estate agent in Maui for 2 years, and he has helped me acquire 3 investment condos. He was incredibly patient with me and showed me 20+ properties while I was visiting Maui, then continued to look at condos for me while I was home in San Francisco, and send me the photos and videos.
