I have just graduated from braces after 22 months wearing them and now have moved on to the retainer phase of my orthodontic treatment. When I was recommended to have braces for my misaligned jaw 2 years ago at 42 years of age I was pretty upset. Who wants to wear braces as an adult? Certainly not me, the thought horrified me. My memories of braces as a teenager were such a drag. The braces hurt, the office was depressing and no one told me anything about what was happening or what to expect. My experience with Dr Brent Douglas and his staff at Ocean orthodontics was radically different. The office is bright and cheery, every phase of the orthodontic treatment was explained to me clearly in language I could understand, the braces were relatively painless and easy to wear and the results are impressive. But what I think is the best part of Ocean Orthodontics is the people. Let me say Dr Douglas is a great guy. He is always smiling and definitely knows his stuff. He explains everything and is open about what’s happening. The staff are truly amazing. They were all so incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and caring. In all my visits I never had one negative interaction, they always made me feel as if I was the most important person in the office. And best of all, everyone seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. It was actually fun to go to my orthodontic appointments and I was almost a little sad to have them taken off knowing that I was graduating soon and my visits would have to end. While I am still in the retainer phase of the treatment, my teeth look absolutely beautiful… I have movie start teeth now. And my jaw issues are completely gone. I would and have recommended Dr. Douglas and his team for anyone looking into getting orthodontic treatment in the future, you will not regret it.
