I appreciate the friendliness of EVERYONE on the staff at NRV Dental. There is good balance between being friendly and not too personal. NRV Dental's quality of care can't be beat and I know I'll be hard pressed to find any group comparable as I relocate to Texas.

Dr. Atherton and her staff are phenomenal. I am very picky about my teeth and my dental health, and I want top quality care and service at an affordable price. New River Valley Dental delivers this and more. All members of the staff work with me to find services that fit my needs and budget, and do so in a luxury environment. I would expect this type of experience from a much larger practice, but because of the size, this practice feels like part of the family. I cannot say enough good things about New River Valley Dental, it is one of the first places I tried when I moved to Blacksburg three years ago, and it has been the only health care provider I am thrilled about and love returning to as a patient. I would recommend anyone who is picky about their teeth and service to give New River Valley Dental a try, you will not regret it!

I am a white knuckle patient at the dentist office. New River Valley Dental takes away all my anxiety and while I really can't relax (my problem not theirs) they do everything within their power to make my visits stress free.

Everyone is always so nice. It was good to get a little more time just talking with Dr. Atherton today! :)

Dr Atherton and her staff are the friendliest dental staff I have ever met. They put your fears to rest by making you feel comfortable and right at home. You almost forget where you are. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else: )

Dr. Atherton and her staff are extremely professional and go out of their way to make their patients feel comfortable. All of the staff are friendly and work efficiently. My appointments are always on time, and I have never been made to wait once I am sitting in the dental chair. My teeth are very sensitive but yet I never feel any anxiety for having my teeth worked on because I know that the staff will do its best to make sure my visit is as pain free as possible. I would definitely recommend Dr. Atherton to anyone.

These guys are the best! Always on time, remind me of the appts., make sure Im well taken care of and they always have a smile for my early morning appt. There is never a problem they cant handle with my dental work. We wont go anywhere else.

I am very thankful for an experienced dentist who is capable of giving the best dental care. I was prepared to hear that nothing could be done about my broken tooth, BUT Dr. Atherton, with the help of a resin product, was able to make a repair that is strong and smooth.

This was my first experience at New River Valley Dental. My crown came off and I needed a dentist quickly to have it reset. I looked online for dentists and saw New River Valley Dental and called. They were able to get me in within 24 hours. The actual procedure took only 15 minutes. Fortunately, my crown was in good condition and my mouth was, too, so there were no problems to work around. Dr. Atherton and Vonnie were very pleasant, efficient, and effective. A bonus was the easy parking. If I weren't moving out of state in two months, I definitely would choose Dr. Atherton as my dentist.

I never thought I could say that I love my dentist, but I do!! Everyone at New River Valley Dental is so fantastic, and they make you feel completely relaxed . Love going to the dentist!!!

As usual, I was treated professionally throughout the appointment, from scheduling to being prompt with my appointment. In addition, I feel I received highly professional care from an experienced and thorough provider and a very courteous and personable staff. I was highly satisfied with the experience.

Nobody likes going to the dentist. It's one of the most avoided things I would guess, as I know many people who harbor the same feelings. BUT, Dr. Atherton and her staff provide a comfortable environment from her soft-spoken bedside manner to the general friendliness of the whole staff. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality dentist office.

I have gone to NRV dental for seven years and have always been very satisfied with the experience. The waiting room is comfortable and I am always called in at, before, or (rarely) a short time after my scheduled appointment time. If a problem arises, I can get in for at least a preliminary evaluation (and sometimes for a complete solution) promptly, often the same day. Staff (receptionists, hygienists, assistants and the dentist) are uniformly friendly and willing to give advice and answer my questions. For checkups, the dentist gives a thorough examination. For longer work, like fillings and crowns, she takes all the time necessary to make sure everything fits comfortably. I first went to NRV Dental because of problems with a crown. All subsequent work there has has been done skilfully and with minimal discomfort. It has held up beautifully. Teamwork among the staff is very smooth, and morale appears to be excellent. They make good use of technology for dental work, billing, and intra-office communication. They have handled billing and insurance with no hassle for me, whether or not they were in-network with my insurer. I am over 65 and have at least my share of dental service needs. I've been a regular patient at seven dental offices over the years and have generally received very good care, in line with standard practices at the time. Overall, I'd rate NRV at the top of the list.

Always good--from the front desk on back into the practice, everyone if excellent, a pleasure to work with, efficient, professional yet relaxed, and they have managed to squeeze in my children when they come back to town for spring break or some other visit.
