It has been an absolute pleasure working with Dr. Matiscik and his team at Forum Functional Health. At each appointment I learn lots of interesting things about hormones, gut health, inflammation, food, the list goes on and on. The program he chose for me started working immediately and I feel better than I have in years. His expertise has truly brought my quality of life to a whole new level!! Dr. Matiscik is very easy to talk to, even about personal things. He is extremely knowledgeable, and it is obvious that he truly loves what he does -- helping people feel better the natural way!

I had such a positive overall experience with the staff at Forum Functional Health. Dr. Matiscik was very knowledgeable and was able to help me with health issues I'd been dealing with for years.

I wanted to try something different than the BioTE method for menopause symptoms. Dr. Matiscik was very thorough in making sure he knew what issues I was having and explaining how my individualized program would work once my test panels came back. Not long after starting my program, I noticed most of my symptoms had disappeared. These included joint pain, hot flashes, sleepless nights, and hair loss. I am still on the program and continue to see extra benefits such as weight loss, lower stress levels and better digestion. I am excited to see what the remainder of the program has in store for me. I can’t say enough good things about Optum Health, my review is long, but my recovery has been worthy of praise. When I first came to Optum Health the numerous issues (hormonal hot flashes, severe digestive issues, joint issues, overall fatigue) I was having were debilitating. My life to me was basically over. I had been to several doctors, none of whom could put a name to anything I was experiencing other than attribute it to my age and menopause (63 at the time). I knew in my heart something was not right. My body was failing me. At this point it became time to become my own health advocate. I knew I had been poisoned by Cipro, a Fluoroquinolone antibiotic. When I initially tried to tell my gastro doctor, who prescribed the drug, that it harmed me he did not believe it was from the drug, he dismissed it and tried to give me more damaging pharmaceutical drugs. When I went to my primary care doctor he also dismissed that I had been harmed by this, what he called a miraculous antibiotic and he sent me to a Rheumatologist. This particular doctor was the first one to agree that I was most likely harmed, however because she was a traditional doctor all she could offer was more pharmaceutical drugs that I had to decline based on the potential serious side effects. Than out of the blue (what I call divine intervention) I happened across a Facebook post about Optum Health and it was close to my home. I did my review of this office and decided to make an appointment for the $49.00 introductory offer. That was absolutely the best $49 I’ve ever spent. My initial visit was the most thorough visit I have ever had with any type of medical professional. Dr. Matiscik listened and heard every word and explained in layman terms what he felt might be causing my issues. He suggested a panel of tests be done, which insurance covered the biggest portion, and once the results were back from all the tests it was like my eyes had been opened. Most of the things tested are not on a regular test that your traditional doctor performs, these tests go much deeper and truly evaluate, for instance the extensive salvia test which measures hormones like cortisol, estrogen and testosterone. The balance of hormones produced by your body is essential to good health and a feeling of well-being. Various sex hormones like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and other hormones like cortisol, affect sleep, mood, memory, libido, and cognitive factors such as learning and attention span (which I feel contributed to my hot flashes, my sleep disturbances and my overall brain fog). Additionally, he ordered extensive stool samples, these help to identify diseases of the digestive tract, liver and pancreas and can find the cause of symptoms such as prolonged diarrhea, bloating and abdominal pain. These can also check for parasites, infection and fungus or a virus, as well as poor absorption of nutrients. Dr. Matiscik is extensively trained in functional medicine and the overall body wellness, his credentials are impeccable and the knowledge that I have come to see out of this man is amazing. I have been on this journey now for 10 months with Dr. Matiscik and have had unlimited access to him either in person or via email, as well as his assistant LeeAnn who is awesome by the way. Any question, any issue, he is there and he always has a quick response and a scientific, body based explanation as to what my body is going through based on the protocol I am on. Folks I’m here to tell you this has not been an easy journey, but to see the progress I have made and to feel the way I feel today is nothing short of miraculous. When I initially started the program I made Dr. Matiscik aware that I was a Christian and that I was putting my faith into this program, he assured me he was on board with my belief and that he could help me. I truly believe in this man and know his story of exactly how he got to where he is and why he is doing this. He has seen so many people suffer through the years with issues that are unexplainable, however if you actually put the science to the issue it becomes very apparent. We live in a world that is full of toxins, most of them hidden, but very dangerous. Some people are never affected, some are, I was one of those that was, either by fate, genetics, habits, poisoned by drugs, whatever, it doesn’t matter. I now know exactly the path I must follow to continue to have optimum health. Plus I have also gained the insight into the poisons of our food chain; if you don’t think it’s there, just fathom the number of people on the planet that are being fed by massive food “production” and if that doesn’t make it clear nothing will. Could I have done all this on my own, possibly if I spent 24/7 researching for years or went to school like Dr. Matiscik has done, but having him as my doctor, my coach, my go to person has made all the difference in the world and has put me on an expedient path to being healthier. He is a decent human being with a true passion of wanting to help people. With zero being the percentage of how I felt when I first went to Optum Health I would have to say I am 98% better now in 10 months and it was all worth it. The program is not cheap, however you cannot put a price on health and the program does require persistent commitment, but Dr. Matiscik is also a great encourager, he has never not been available or too busy to allow me time. To know I have done this naturally speaks for itself. The initial outlay in getting to optimum health and the knowledge gained is well worth it. I am no longer on any type of pharmaceutical drugs at all. I feel better than I have felt in years and know that my investment will last me for the rest of my life.

I have started treatment 3 weeks ago, and I feel much better already. I know I still have a long way to go, but I trust my doctor, he gives me the tools to gain my health back. He got answers for every one of my questions, the office has a friendly and very supportive environment. I am really glad I did find the Optum Health Center .
