I have been suffering with back pain due to scoliosis, stenosis and degenerative disc disorder for almost a decade. To this point I have tried everything and anything from OxyContin, daily doses of ibuprofen, salves, heat packs, warming gels, and physical therapy to help deal with the pain. Pretty much everything but calling a witch doctor. But those were all like putting a band aid on a bullet wound. I was even told by a back surgeon that he couldn’t guarantee surgery would help, and the only thing he could suggest is for me to do was core strength training and to lose some weight. Then I might be able to handle daily activities a little easier with less pain. I’ve had at least a half dozen MRIs done, so I was well aware of the amount of damage my back has sustained. Because of this, I wasn’t looking to be pain free, I knew that wasn’t possible. I just wanted to have less pain for longer than a couple of hours at a time. Family had suggested I should try a chiropractor, but I was always to afraid it would only make things worse with all that manipulating. However, I’ve been popping and cracking my own back for some time now, so I thought, what the heck, I might as well go to a professional. A family member suggested “Shoreline Chiropractic”. So I gave them a call and spoke with Lisa at the front desk. Lisa was so helpful with answering my questions about their practice, my insurance coverage and setting up my first appointment. When I arrived I was pleased to see how clean and organized everything seemed to be. First I got to speak with Dr Jake who was so nice and understanding of my issues and took plenty of notes for reference. Then I got to meet with Dr John, who was also extremely nice and really listened to me. And trust me, it was a lengthy sob story. Dr John did a couple of quick painless tests to determine care and then got right to it. I had my first adjustment right then and there, and to my surprise I felt some immediate relief. The pain didn’t magically disappear but it was significantly less . And I have to say the relief lasted the remainder of the day. And, I slept pretty good that night as well. I think the team at Shoreline Chiropractic is a blessing for me. I only wish I had called them sooner. The entire staff at Shoreline Chiropractic is aces in my book. Oh, and I guess I won’t have to call that witch doctor after all.
