My family and I are new to San Diego area. While searching for a dentist that was covered by my insurance, I saw Dr. Shah had excellent reviews. So, I naturally made an appointment for myself and my husband. Definitely made the right choice! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist/Dental Assistant. She made you feel completely at home. Then came Dr. Shah - immediately felt relaxed as soon as we met him. Completely down to earth, affable, communicates at the patients level and even get some laughs in - if that is possible at a dentist office. He explicitly explained everything to the level of complete understanding; we didn't go home scratching our heads on what the doctor said or what needed to be done. We had some pretty good dentists in our lifetime. But, I would have to say Dr. Shah is definitely one of the better ones if not the best.

I recently went to Sorrento Smiles Dentistry for dental treatment and had excellent experience with Dr.Ritesh Shah. Dr.Shah is a highly skilled dentist and is very knowledgeable. He takes his time to explain things and provide fine treatment. He and his staff are really friendly and nice and they actually send an email to check on you a day after the treatment!! Don't think any place would bother to do that. They are also very efficient in emailing any paperwork and accommodate you at your convenient time. I used to go to another dentist and was hesitant to go back there due to their mediocre treatment - the crown they had placed on a root canal treated tooth fell off and because it was not well fitted in the first place, food particles would get stuck between the crown and adjoining teeth, causing the adjoining teeth to start decaying. Dr.Shah not only replaced that with a well fitted crown but also salvaged the adjoining teeth from needing root cancel treatment. All done with little or no pain. I can't say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend Sorrento Smiles Dentistry.

Yes it was as good as it gets! Let us face it, who looks forward to visiting the dentist. I am 67 years old and I have visited different dentists throughout my life time. I have never yet met a dentist like Dr. Shah. He is wonderful in so many ways. Where do I begin? My first visit was for cleaning, X-rays and an evaluation of my teeth and gums. Dr. Shah was the first dentist that was able to see that I really took good care of my teeth and gums. I am a fanatic about my teeth. I use an electric toothbrush, floss and a hydro floss electric machine 2 times daily and sometimes a third time after lunch. I use Closys Oral Health Care after each brushing. I brush for double the length of time recommended. I want to keep my teeth healthy and I work at it. I have amalgam fillings from England from many years ago and missing teeth because preventive dentistry was not practiced in England. Dr. Shah works with his patience on preventive dentistry. He is honest and trustworthy. He takes the time to explain what he feels needs to be done as soon as possible and what can wait for a later date. He recommends what he feels will prevent problems later and leaves the decision making to the patient. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Shah this morning for 3 fillings. These were small fillings that showed the beginning signs of decay. I could have postponed the fillings to be completed at a later date. However, I was thankful that Dr. Shah's keen eye, experience and expertise allowed him to notice tooth areas that were starting to decay. Dr. Shah explained each part of the procedure allowing breaks and making sure that I was as comfortable as possible. The numbing injections were painless. A little pinch that's all. There was no pain during the procedures and he worked quickly showing experience and expertise. His warm, caring nature made my visit stress free. I have never felt this comfortable with a dentist before. I never look forward to going to the dentist but at least I know that on my next visit I can be stress free. I would like to have my metal crowns and amalgam fillings replaced. Besides the cost, the extra time spent at the dentist has prevented me from going ahead. Now I feel that I want Dr. Shah to gradually replace my crowns and fillings. I know he will do a good job while taking care to make sure I am comfortable and at ease. Thank you Dr. Shah! Read less
