Initially signed up for semi-private group class. After reading descriptions of offerings, we decided to see if we could change to a private surf safari. We called and left a message and within minutes we had a call back and everything arranged. After a short drive to a great location, Inaldo had my 13yo catching waves and riding them all the way in to the beach. Our 15yo surfed with the Val and was catching waves immediately. Both boys were well taken care of. They provided beach chairs, lunch, knowledge of where to surf, and great conversation. We had a great day.

Our instructor Justice was there early setting up for his day and our 7 a.m. class. Right away he was friendly, helpful, obviously experienced, enthusiastic and engaged. My son and I could not have asked for a better instructor. He even answered my questions about general surfing etiquette. We had a great time! Thank you

We had a great time with the crew from Waves Hawaii, the instructors were friendly and helpful as well as encouraging. Seeing them get my 8 and 11 year old daughters consistently surfing in a short period of time was awesome, not only did they get an experience they'll remember for the rest of their lives we all had a fantastic time. I had SO much fun!! Eddie was my instructor and he was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. This was my first time surfing and he offered specific coaching tips that helped me get up on my board countless times. Not only did I feel a sense of accomplishment, but I had a blast the entire two hours. I'd highly recommend Waves to anyone wanting a killer surfing experience!

We had a GREAT experience! Both of my kids, 16 & 18 yrs old, got up almost instantly with the direction of their instructors! The pictures are amazing and our experience was the highlight of our Fabulous trip. We will do it again!

It was all around fantastic, our instructer, I believe his name was Inaldo, was well mannered, and very experienced. It was obvious that he knew exactly what he was doing, there were more than a few waves where the other instructors in the water around us sent their students into waves Inaldo said weren't worth surfing. He was right every time. Every. Single. Time. Those other students fell over after the wave died about 10 feet after they tried to get on. Great experience and will definitely reccomend it to any friends who are in search of surfing lessons.

Our instructor Sarah was incredibly helpful and fun during our surf instruction. She helped ease any fears we had and gave us lots of great tips! Would recommend her and the company to any one looking for surf instructors!

Sarah rocks. We went as a family and Sarah was so patient with our 7 year old as well as her Mom and Dad. Our 15 year old rode like a pro at the end of the session and even the Hodaddy got up a couple of times. What a blast and we'll be back before we leave (like it or not!!)

Surfing with a local is a great way to find the best breaks and get out in the water. The instructor was fun and drove me around to a handful of spots I wouldn't have otherwise discovered - and gave great tips for the conditions. I'd recommend this option to anyone who is looking to get the most out of a surf day when visiting Kihei.

Eddie was a great instructor and had lots of patience. He got an old man back on a board after 47 years of not surfing. He also helped two of my sons to enjoy what I had only described in stories. "The older we get...the better we were!" Thanks to Matias for the great photos. Good team of young people!

Val and team always do a great job providing instruction, safety but most importantly FUN! Val makes it easy and fast to get in the water and start riding the waves! My son had 2 days of surf safari and 1 day of "one on one" surfing at North Shore. He had such a great time and it's all he talks about. You guys made our vacation!

My wife called to get my daughter Grace in to a class for her first time surfing and we were able too get a two hour class with Eddie. It was amazing and Eddie did an awesome job. We came to Maui for the first time on our Honeymoon 6 years ago. My husband had a private surf lesson with Val. It was a fantastic experience for him to learn for the first time in Hawaii. We were fortunate enough to visit Maui again this year. We both had private lessons this time, with Justus and Toni. They were really great instructors and had us up on our boards immediately! It was a wonderful time! We hope to return some day soon! Mahalo!

Toni was great. My daughter caught her first half dozen waves and I think Toni gave her the clear instruction and confidence to go out and do it. She is a natural teacher.

Waves was a great experience! First, when the weather wasn't very nice they contacted us to see if we wanted to reschedule. We did and glad as it would have been a little cold. The surfing itself was great. We had Sarah as an instructor and she made my two boys, myself and my husband feel very comfortable in the water. She made it so much easier than I thought it would be. Everyone got up right away and continued to improve throughout the 2 hour lesson. Loved it and would recommend Waves without hesitation.

It was totally righteous! First time surfing for my wife and I on our honeymoon, and we we popped up in no time. It was magical to feel the flowing power of the ocean, it was so much fun!! Sara's instructions and guidance kept us feeling comfortable and safe, and Matias's photos were awesome. We were hungry after, and even their breakfast recommendation was spot on. It was a highlight of an amazing trip, thanks guys!!!

It was phenomenal! We had two families totaling 9 people, including 5 kids ranging in age from 6 to 9 years old. All of the kids and adults got right up and had a great time. The instructors did a great job explaining what to do and helped everyone have a great time.

We had an outstanding experience with Waves Hawaii Surf School. My 9 and 7 year old children were first given on land instruction, highly focused on safety. Their instructor, Justice, was a great teacher and had both children surfing very quickly. He also did an excellent job of protecting them in the water. My children had a blast and can't wait to surf again. Overall it was a great experience. Very friendly and fun team!

I had a wonderful time paddle boarding with my family and my instructors, Brooks and Justice in Maui. I felt safe, and most importantly I had an incredibly fun time. I will definitely go back when I return to Maui. I would recommend Waves Hawaii Surf School to any and everyone.

My sister, her husband and I went out at A Thousand Peaks in Maui with Fernando. We could not have received a better experience than what he gave us. He was awesome. Amazing friendly, great teacher, coolest attitude ever. He is a beast! At one point he was towing my sister with his foot on her board, a GoPro in the other, and still paddling all around the break like it was nothing. He had great words of encouragement and the most positive attitude ever! Mahalo Fernando, you gave the best experience we could have imagined! Ask for Fernando, he will not let you down!

From the moment I inquired about the options Waves Hawaii offered I was treated with the best service possible. We plan to make a trip back to Maui next year and the first thing I will do will be to call Val and book more than one day of surfing and SUP. Val was awesome and one of the highlights from our week in Maui. Both my wife and I really enjoyed Val and her ability to instruct us. If you want to surf or SUP in Maui call Waves Hawaii first.
