I’m Selena from TX and I can’t say enough awesome, wonderful things about Surf Yoga. I came for a lesson with Eddie back in 2019 and have been hooked ever since. I come back every year because Eddie is such a great teacher, incredibly positive and attentive. He makes sure you are safe while having an awesome time surfing. I will always come back to see Eddie for surfing, he really cares.

You have permission to share this with anyone :) We LOVE surf yoga! We first surfed with Eddie in 2015. We loved it so much that when we finally returned to Hawaii in January 2025, she and I surfed with him again. He's terrific, supportive and a very talented teacher. We felt absolutely safe (as we did in 2015 when we sent our daughter out with him at age four and a half!). Summer was super responsive and helpful and overall we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Eddie and Summer :)

My wife and I, both in our 70's, had a terrific time on our first ever surfing lesson. We enjoyed excellent communication with Summer regarding the booking, were able to take home some photos by Leilani, and we couldn't have been happier than having Eddie teaching us out on the water. He provided thorough and knowledgeable instruction, was always very patient and encouraging, and is very fun guy to be around. We enjoyed every minute of our class and would highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui to anyone wanting to experience the thrill of actually riding a wave all the way to shore. We'll be back!

The experience was great, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. There were five in our group, including my three kids ages 13, 11, and 9. Eddie and his team were fun and knowledgeable. To my surprise and everyone's delight, I look up on the first wave or two and all three kids had gotten to a standing position on their surfboards. None of us have done this before, and I was expecting a lot more struggle, and these guys made it easy. One of the highlights of our trip.

Eddie was an amazing surf instructor, equal parts safety conscious, encouraging, but also recognizing that I could push my skills to the next level. The water was warm, perfect for a beginner, and full of sea turtles. There was a photographer on my second lesson day and she took the most amazing photos! Would definitely recommend Surf Yoga Maui.

This was my second time taking surf lessons with Eddie. Last year, I took one lesson. This year, I took the 3 lesson progression. I had a fantastic time surfing. Under Eddie's excellent instruction, I improved with each lesson. He is experienced and supportive during the lessons. I felt completely safe in the water during my lessons. If you want a wonderful, safe experience learning to surf, then Eddie is the surf instructor for you! Thank you, Eddie! See you next year!

We had an excellent time learning to surf with Surf Yoga Maui. Eddy is a fun, knowledgeable, patient instructor. He is very warm and welcoming and had lots of helpful tips on surfing and exploring Maui. This was a highlight of our trip!

My daughter and I were lucky enough to have a 7 am “group” lesson with Eddy. Eddy and the photographer were both super chill and patient, very instructive and we each caught a wave first try! Wonderful experience. Felt challenged but safe. Highly recommend.

The surf lessons with Eddie were exceptional!!! He knew exactly how to act with my 10-year-old-son and me. We realized immediately that he is very experienced in giving surf lessons. And we felt very safe with him. He always knew where my son was and he didn't do risky things. He pushed us to the waves with a perfect timing so we managed to stand up on the board on the waves. And he always found the right moment with no other surfers in our way. This all took place in a very relaxed atmosphere. We had so much fun with him and laughed a lot. Eddie is very professional and relaxed at the same time. Just unbelievable! On our next trip to Maui we will definitely make sure to surf with Eddie again. Mahalo Eddie!

What a blessing to have an experienced, fun, caring, diligent surf instructor who cares for student's safety throughout the lesson! I met amazing Surf Instructor Eddie in 2019. I kept his number to continue the lessons when I visit Maui again. We continued the lessons this summer. Every lesson improved my skills from catching waves to surfing left or right. Highlight of the trip was surfing all by myself and lining up with the locals:) Mahalo a ton Eddie! Scheduling the lessonns with Eddi's wife Summer was very pleasent. When I did not feel well it was very easy to change it. I recommend Eddie, best surf instructor ever and Surf Yoga Maui highly. Eddie is the master of the ocean.

My granddaughter and friend were here visiting us in Kihei. Eddie at Surf Yoga was the best instructor we could have found! He communicated so well with the girls, was all about safety and fun! The girls caught more waves than they could have imagined and were even able to go out the next day. I have already recommended Eddie and Surf Yoga to a couple other visitors.

Our son had an outstanding experience with his instructor Eddie! The location was perfect for beginners and very safe as it is not too deep and the waves are just right! Eddie was super friendly, not just to us, but all the local surfers as well. Summer was very responsive to our emailed questions and concerns-everything was easy and above all, fun! Our son was up right away and loved every minute. They even have a photographer in the water who provided some beautiful photos that we could not capture from land! We highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui and hope to be back!

Our 4 Grandsons and 1 girlfriend loved your instructor and enjoyed their time surfing. I would recommend this experience to everyone who ever wants to try surfing. At 70 years old I wanted to try it myself except for a injured foot.

My experience with Surf Yoga Maui could not have been better. From booking to communication to my lesson, I could not have asked for a better experience. My surf lesson with Eddie was to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was fantastic! I felt safe and ready to go into the water after an on land lesson about safety and surf basics. Once in the water, Eddy was wonderful. It is clear that he is very knowledgeable and loves what he does. He stayed close by. He gave me helpful pointers after each wave. He was able to see where I had difficulty; and, he was able to build on my successes. I had the best day. I can't wait to return to Maui to take the 3-day lesson progression with Eddy. Thank you Eddy and Summer for making my birthday special and memorable!

We took a semi-private lesson with Eddie as a family of four, including two elementary age kids. Eddie was careful about making sure the kids were safe the whole time. He was clearly the best instructor in the water. All of us caught on quickly, had a great time, and agreed it was the absolute highlight of our trip. If you go in the earlier time slot, you’ll beat the crowds. I highly recommend Surf Yoga!

Surfing with Eddie was amazing! He helped us all go at our own pace. My young son had difficulty with the salt water and getting dunked too much, so Eddie took him on his own board, keeping his hair dry so he could still have fun with us. He was so great with the kids. I highly recommend this experience for families. We did a 3 day progression, private lessons. Thank you Eddie!!

This was such a great experience from beginning to end! Summer was super communicative and responsive and made it easy to plan for and book our lesson, as well as to make specific requests about what we wanted to learn. Eddie was a great instructor -- patient, knowledgeable, focused on safety but also easy going enough that we could relax into the experience and being in the ocean. We especially loved how knowledgeable Eddie was about this particular break, the conditions of the ocean, all things swell/wind/wave-related, and was able to set us on our way to independently assessing surf conditions. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

5 out of 5 stars is not enough to accurately measure our experience with Surf Yoga Maui. After a previous trip where one of my sons and I took surf lessons, we decided to bring the whole family for this time around, including my son with Down syndrome. Summer put us at ease prior to arrival, ensuring us they’ve had experience teaching others with special needs how to surf and I knew we were in great hands when we arrived as Eddie explained they had brought in the best of the best to work on a 1:1 basis with my son. Not only did he learn to surf, he had a great time and had all of the encouragement and support he needed to be successful. This allowed the rest of us to relax and enjoy our lesson at the same time. The pictures of everyone were full of smiles and we were talking about our time surfing the rest of the week! We all walked away wishing we had booked more time and will definitely surf with Eddie, Josh and the Surf Yoga Maui team next time we visit.

My kids and I had a blast with Eddie! My 9 yo son had never been in Ocean waiter and Eddie was super patient with him and got him surfing independently by the second day. We felt very safe with Eddie, as he is very knowledgeable about the ocean swell and safety protocols. The equipment /boards, etc were in excellent condition.

We had a fantastic time learning to surf with our great instructor Eddie. This was our second time taking lessons after a break of a couple of years. We loved it so much we booked in a week later for another round of lessons where we progressed from standing to learning to turn on the wave. All 3 of us were up on our boards and enjoying ourselves surfing alongside turtles. Eddie is a knowledgable instructor committed to making sure everyone is learning and having a good time and staying safe.

Even with none prior experience I could get great lessons with the instructor which displayed lot of competence. The more lessons I could do the more fun I was having. I can only refer this small but high quality business for learning how to surf

OUTSTANDING!! Our family of 5 absolutely loved our day with Josh, Eddie and John. All 5 of us successfully surfed after our first lesson! They were extremely helpful, and made the entire experience FUN!

The whole experience with excellent. Good instructor and all equipment was in good shape. Family oriented and fun. Eddie and Summer truly care about quality and professionalism. My 15 year old granddaughter loved the experience which was a 2 hr private lesson with Eddie. We will go again.

We were fortunate to have our lesson moved to 7:00 am which allowed us to surf for quite awhile before it got crowded. We all went out - me, my daugther and my niece -- and we all caught our first wave and every other wave (well so it seemed...). Eddie was very conscious about safety, honestly all the instructors were, and it was such a fantastic experience. We all appreciated the yoga pants and board shirts, and none of us sustained any injuries. I highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui - definitely 5 stars! Mahalo!

Eddie was absolutely fantastic! He is an experienced instructor who takes safety seriously but then knows how to make learning a new sport fun. We had individuals with all different levels of fitness and ability in our family and he was able to get each one of us up and surfing by the end of the lesson. We opted for 3 days and enjoyed every minute. We will definitely be booking with Eddie again next time we're in Maui!

We had a great experience with Surf Yoga Maui. Summer was wonderful to coordinate with, and Eddie was a great instructor. He was wonderful with our kids--who went back for three additional lessons!--and went above and beyond what one could expect. All in all, a wonderful time.

This was the third surfing lesson we booked with SYM, they are amazing. My kids, ages 7 and 10, were comfortable on the board in minutes. Eddie and his team make sure that everyone is safe, successful and having fun. We can't wait to go back again!

My 18 and 22 year old kids really wanted to try out surfing and twisted my arm to join them. We were able to book on-line at the last minute, in order to fit this in on our last day of vacation. Our instructor, Eduardo, was great! Very encouraging but with appropriate safety precautions. He recommended capri pants for my daughter and me to avoid abrasions. Gave clear instructions on land and was attentive in the water, making sure we all go some great rides. Although we did not purchase pictures, I must say they were great shots. I would highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui for beginners. My kids are excited to go surfing again!

After meeting Summer and Eddie on our flight to Maui and discovering that Eddie was a surf instructor I just had a sign up. We had good weather and decent waves. Eddie did a great job of dry land coaching before going out on the waves. He had everything ready and set up for me to get out in the water right away. He was great assisting while surfing and making sure we got some nice pictures. . I recommend their services to anyone who wants to surf Maui.

Best Surfing lesson!! I had a private session with Eddy. Summer and Eddy were very accommodating and cooperative in adjusting the date due to unforeseen weather. Summer was very friendly and diligently provided all the details for someone who had never surfed before. This was my first time surfing and I had the best experience. Eddy was very patient and friendly and made sure I got the techniques right and was able to surf by myself at the end of the session. We had a lot of fun; my overall experience with Surf yoga Maui was phenomenal!!!

Last summer, Surf Yoga Maui was our school of choice for our older son’s first surfing lesson. This year, on our return trip to the island, more surf lessons with them were his only request. Well, that and the daily dose of shave ice! Arrangements were a breeze with Summer at the helm. She was a pleasure to work with both this year and last. She is quick to reply and we felt well taken care of. Because my son had so much fun last year, my husband gave it a try. Both he and my son were up on their boards in no time riding those waves thanks to their fantastic instructor, Eddie. Eddie stressed safety and fun. We can’t wait until our youngest is old enough to ride with the team at Surf Yoga Maui!

My fiancé and I had a blast during our surf lesson. Both of us had done other board sports but neither had surfed before. The instructor was a great help in giving little pointers and was very friendly/personable. I would highly recommend this!

Such an Awesome experience!! My instructor which i sadly forgot his name, but was Brazilian was so informative and made me feel comfortable after every wipe out! After a few attempts i was up and surfing WOOO HOOO!! Awesome dude, i would totally take the course again and recommend it to all my friends.

We had breakfast at our hotel and then met Summer for some morning yoga. It was a beautiful, grassy location overlooking the ocean. The yoga experience was very relaxing and was appropriate for our experience level. It was also perfect for getting us ready for surfing! After yoga, we went down to the beach and met Eddie for surfing lessons. We had never surfed before and the location was perfect for learning. Eddie taught us everything we needed to know and we were riding waves within minutes of the start of our lesson!
