On Jan. 26, 2026, I had a molar removed at Maui Oral Surgery. The procedure was done by Dr. Todd Carter, who performed in a crisp, professional manner throughout. Hi assistants were also professional and helpful. The procedure involved considerable drilling and was a bit noisy, but I felt no pain and the procedure was accomplished in 15 or 20 minutes. The post-surgery instructions were helpful and clear -- so much so that the removal site healed easily and without discomfort. No one looks forward to a procedure like this, but Dr. Carter and his staff did an excellent job.

My Dentist recommended Dr Carter for a tooth extraction. I was pleasantly surprised to come into a very clean and spacious praxis with a very friendly and caring staff. Dr Carter did an excellent job on removing the tooth, hardly any bleeding afterwards and I didn’t need any pain medication at all. The after care was explained very well and professional. I had the best deep cleaning experience yesterday. I have had it done once before at another place and it was so distressing I shook all over and had terrible neck pain for a week afterwards. I was so concerned but it was done so kindly by Philomena and she took time to give a break to lesson the tension. It was a very enjoyable visit and I thank you.

I had a great experience getting my wisdom teeth removed. The consultation process was smooth and all of my questions and concerns were addressed thoroughly. On the day of surgery, the nurses were very kind and helped me feel comfortable, especially since I was a little nervous because of my TMJ. The procedure itself went smoothly, and the recovery has been much easier than I expected. I have only experienced some mild pain and normal discomfort. The post-operative instructions were clear and very helpful. Overall, I felt well cared for at every step and would highly recommend this office.

I started seeing Dr Carter five years ago when I moved to Maui. I have had numerous implants and all have been successful. The staff at MOS is great, always smiling and making sure you are comfortable, and the wait for care is minimal. Dr Carter is very personable, makes sure you are getting the care you need and works well with my Dentist. The coordination of processes between offices is seamless and makes dental care scheduling work within my schedule. I was referred to Dr Carter from my dentist. I needed a new tooth; back lower molar. The initial consult was clear and easy to understand. I moved forward, and had my tooth removed. After the correct time waiting, a post was put in. The procedure was smooth and pain free. Dr Carter has great hands, and a wonderful personality. I had a superlative experience at Mau Oral surgery today. …I was very nervous, but the staff were excellent at keeping me calm and were super super nice… Dr. Carter was excellent, I literally felt no pain before or after, and was comfortably sedated throughout the procedure. Currently recuperating at home and have had no issues the first 24 hours.

Dr. Carter at Maui Oral Surgery is an excellent oral surgeon as shown several times in dealing with difficult and complex extractions and implant base placements. He is personable and calls in the evenings after a procedure to follow up to see if everything is alright. The office support professionals are proficient, helpful and upbeat. The office is spotless and bright. The Implant coordinator is very good at juggling schedules, coordinating with other dental office specialists, explaining billing and addressing other dental issues.

Perhaps 15 or more years ago Dr. Carter accomplished amazing dental work for my husband. I had no idea such improvement would be possible, and it restored Raymond's health and confidence. Priceless. When I personally required the expertise of a specialist, I knew where to go. But surprise! Dr. Carter's office is now conveniently located in Central Kahului.It's worth going there just to enjoy the spectacular Haleakala views! Everyone who works with Dr. Carter is upbeat, friendly and so efficient. I confess a previous dread of anything relating to dental work. No longer so.
