Dr. Grin was able to diagnose my sleep apnea issue by taking the time to listen to my daily experiences. His patience and open thinking is a quality very seldom found in the medical industry. The reality is that I do not snore, but yet I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I realized that sleep apnea must be one of the lest recognized deficiency that a good portion of the population suffers. Dr. Grin is an excellent health care professional. He takes the time to explain everything I need to know. He explains what he is doing, why and what I should expect. His staff is also excellent. I was referred to Dr. Grin by a family member who spoke highly of him. Dr. Grin and his staff do a phenomenal job of listening and asking questions to better access your medical concerns. His personality and mannerism gives you a comfort level of trust. He takes the time to educate you so you can make sound decisions on various options. He is flexible with his schedule to address any immediate issues. For instance, I needed an adjustment to my oral instrument. He was able to accommodate my request immediately. Apart from the excellent service that Dr. Grin and his whole office provides, the amazing thing is that I never have to wait. If my appointment is at 4pm, then 4pm is when I am admitted into his office. I was suffering from TMJ pain and couldn't quite figure out what type of doctor to go for help. My dentist referred me to another dentist who specialized in TMJ. Unfortunately, or in this case, fortunately, he was due to retire in a couple of weeks. I googled jaw pain doctors and found Dr. Grin. As luck would have it, it was one of the best search finds yet! My issue has since improved dramatically. But, more importantly, Dr. Grin is one of the best doctors you can hope to have on your side. He is kind and gentle. He takes the time to listen and explain to you. His office is well-appointed. And, did I mention, he has the best office staff? None of that horrible reception area and personnel that you see in some doctors' offices. The staff is as friendly and as attentive as Dr. Grin. Guess it helps when the boss serves as a role model. I was referred to Dr. Grin by my primary when I started to experience jaw pain. Though a variety of diagnostic methods, he identified the cause of the pain and set up a treatment plan. At every visit, he and his staff treated me with the highest respect and took the time to fully understand my progress. I've been struggling with Migraines for several years now and have seen a few different Doctor's over this time. Dr. Grin is BY FAR the best Doctor I've seen!!! Through his dedication and knowledge, he was able to properly diagnose the causes of my Migraines and provided me with the treatment needed to cure my problems! By going to Dr Grinn, I was able to find an alternative to the CPap machine for my sleep apnea through a custom mouthguard and correct medication. I also eliminated my tmj and eventually my sleep apnea. I'm very lucky I found him, as work and life with sleep apnea is very hard to manage.

I'm very grateful to Dr. Grin for helping me get my life back. I was in terrible pain for months and the specialists I saw had no idea what was causing it and didn't seem to care that I was suffering so badly. Dr. Grin took my suffering seriously and finally gave me a correct diagnosis with appropriate medication. I am currently seeing this Dr. Grin after a sport accident that took place several years ago in hopes of lessening the pressure that is taking place from my nose/sinus areas. Dr. Grin is very kind and understanding. He takes his time listening to my questions. He is willing to explain things throughly. If I do not understand something, he takes his time to explain it for me. If medication isn't working out for me, then I tell him how it is making me feel worse if it is, and he is very understanding and supportive about it. Staff is also very kind and professional.

The best Dr. I've ever seen may have literally saved my life. Here's a summary of my experience with Dr. Grin: In June of this year after living with TMJ for over 30 years I started researching what options I had available to me other then my regular dentist -- who had me wearing night guard -- but the symptoms were worsening and I was experiencing severe pain in my jaw and rather suddenly tinnitus in my right ear. So after much research and the recommendation of my dentist I made an appointment to see Dr. Grin. The first appointments consisted of a long detailed interview and scans of my jaw --- the scans had never been done in the past. Anyway, when I returned for my follow-up appointment Dr. Grin explained to me as a result of his review of my scans he had forwarded them to the radiology department at UCLA (Dr. Grin teaches at UCLA as well). The Dr's at UCLA concurred with Dr. Grin's findings that I had a mass that was eating away at my right TMJ joint and had the potential if not treated through somewhat immediate surgery -- to enter my brain pan and cause catastrophic results. I had surgery on Aug 24th at UCLA by Dr. Freymiller with Dr. Grin in attendance. The surgery lasted approx. 4 hours and they removed the *mass (*pathology report still pending) but I've been assured it is not cancer. My jaw was wired shut for two weeks (lived off soup and smoothies) and I still have several screws in my mouth and rubber bands in an effort to correct the alignment of my jaw now that my right TMJ joint is gone. I'll write further reviews as my treatments with Dr. Grin continue -- he did make two new appliances for me to wear in the daytime and at night -- however unfortunately due to the screws in my mouth I can't wear them at this time. I am going to see Dr. Grin this week to see if he can fashion some temporary mouth guards. In summary, do not hesitate to see Dr. Grin if you are suffering from TMJ or other related problems he is the best (and may save your life as well). Dr. Grin and his staff deserve the highest possible accolades. I was referred to the office after a long siege of significant TMJ disorder and pain. In my case my jaw bone was displaced within the socket. My jaw had shifted in such a way that I could not properly chew on food. There was constant popping of the joint. Dr. Grin's excellent state-of-the-art imaging equipment quickly identified the problem and indicated for him the appropriate course of action. With the combination of an injection into the joint and a muscle relaxant my jaw is functioning normally and without pain or popping. As a further precaution Dr. Grin fit me with appliances to wear at night and in the day. I am very pleased with the results. Dr. Grin is a most pleasant man who is willing to spend whatever amount of time is needed and seems to be truly dedicated to his patients. I never felt rushed. I also found his staff to be most helpful and friendly.

Dr. Grin is a gem.. He is the first doctor to provide me with relief from my maxillofacial pain. It took me many years and I went through many other doctors to find him. He listens very very well and is very patient in providing incremental care and nothing intrusive. If you are looking for pain relief, he is your man. I was referred to Dr.Grin by my dentist because I was experiencing severe jaw pain following dental work on the lower rear tooth on the right side of my mouth. It was very painful to open my mouth more than a quarter of an inch. Following Dr.Grin's treatment and exercises the pain has gone completely away. In addition to Dr.Grin's competent and successful treatment, he was also very kind and gentle and took the extra time to thoroughly explain everything he was doing and going to do. He also has a great sense of humor! I would strongly recommend Dr.Grin for any similar condition and treatment. He is a great doctor!!

I wish to leave a wholehearted recommendation for Dr. Paul Grin. He was recommended to me by my pulmonary specialist, Dr. Roman Culjat, to be fitted with a set of dental devices to supplement my CPAP. This was all in relation to a very complex ongoing chronic migraine headache condition I have had for many, many years. I cannot recall a doctor and dentist that I would rate more highly than Dr. Grin. And, as a retired person, I've seen quite a few doctors. To my pleasant surprise, Dr. Grin is also a oral facial pain doc, and a headache specialist. To make a long story short....from what I experienced, Dr. Grin takes an amazing amount of time and interest in his patients. He looks you in the eye, gives you all his attention, writes down all of his notes by pen, all the while, asking you detailed questions about you and your background. This is almost unheard of these days. On the clinical side, his work and technique are efficient and spot on. His dental appliances fit perfect and he went above and beyond what I expected. His advise is carefully explained and well conveyed. Finally, his staff is also wonderful. They are warm, welcoming, and efficient. But, it is Dr, Grin who is really a truly an exceptional Dr. I think that the quality of the staff reflects the doctor and vice versa.

Dr. Grin was referred to me by another physician, and I was amazed at the references on line as I researched him. To my delight Dr. Grin has lived up to every positive comment, plus! His background and affiliation with UCLA is impressive. Another layer of satisfaction is knowing he will review your case with his affiliates at UCLA. Dr. Grin, is hands down one of the best doctors I have seen in my 57 years of life. His demeanor and bedside manner is calm, positive, thorough and attentive. I originally saw Dr. Grin due to tremendous pain in my jaw. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed and asked all the right questions to provide me with the right medical treatment. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated and I am beyond impressed with him and his staff. They are courteous, professional and genuinely care. In my experience I have found that doctors are usually rushed when attending patients, but not Dr. Grin. I am happy to concur with all of the praise about Dr. Grin's superb professionalism as a physician and about his office staff's kindness and attention to detail. Other doctors need to learn from this practice! With utmost patience, compassion, and follow through, Dr. Grin makes me feel like his only patient because of his astute scheduling. On my dentist's recommendation, I saw Dr. Grin for what I thought was TMJ, but he quickly diagnosed something much more serious, a rare, autoimmune disease called temporal arteritis. This is an inflammation/narrowing of blood vessels in the arteries of the head, neck,& upper body; mine was centered in my head, and as a result,the headaches were an 8/9 for a couple of weeks. Although I saw several "specialists," it was Dr. Grin who literally saved my eyesight and perhaps my life. He referred me to a wonderful rheumatologist, and remains a key player on my medical team. Dr Grin is the best! I have suffered from chronic headaches for a few years now daily headaches that where so intense they where destroying my life. Dr Grin was able to properly diagnose the causes and prescribe proper meds and treatment. One month later and for the first time I am headache free. This guy is the best seriously. I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. Grin and his office staff. Dr. Grin is extremely thorough and does not rush through his appointments. This treatment in itself is a rarity.I am being treated for TMD and it has been painful with noticeable inflammation. I feel I am well on my way to healing. The inflammation is noticably less and the pain minimal. I don't feel that I am receiving the one size fits all treatment that I have received elsewhere. Dr. Grin is gentle and kind and as I mentioned before extremely thorough. His treatment is proactive addressing the physical ailment with splints as well as exercises to correct the behaviors that led to the problem. He also has a great sense of humor which is appreciated. Dr. Grin has been a literal life saver! He and his whole office staff have been compassionate, professional and flexible in helping my 83 year old mother in law deal with her extremely painful TMJ that developed a year and a half ago. Dr. Grin has been so caring and listens to her carefully and helps guide us in her treatments. His office has been great in working through insurance for all her appliances and medications. We drive from far to see Dr. Grin, but he is totally worth the drive. Once there we park easily and are greeted by caring and compassionate staff. We have never been in the waiting room long and they only schedule one patient at a time. After a short wait time, we see the doctor and Dr. Grin listens and makes recommendations. He keeps good notes and follows up on every detail. Prior to seeing Dr. Grin she had been to so many doctors and dentists and NOTHING helped. Now she is getting relief for blocks of time each day - but we are still persevering! Dr. Grin has never said - well - this is the best I can do. Instead, he continues to recommend other medical professionals, treatment exercises, and medications. He gives hope of a good quality of life again! At a time when health care has become a cattle system, Dr. Grin is a tender shepherd with a gentle "Staff" who provides excellent care as we graze (:

I might get teary-eyed writing this. Dr. Grin is the best doctor I've ever come across! He is a kind, gentle, patient and caring man who really takes his time to analyze your situation and come up with solution. He is top notch. He uses the best and latest technology and methods.The pain I was experiencing was unbelievable and within two months I'm 90% better. He saved my life because if the pain continued I wouldn't be able to function to say the least. Don't mess around with any other doctor. Dr. Grin and his wonderful staff has helped my family immensely. We were told my daughter would need 9 months of invasive treatment for TMJ and he was able to get her completely pain free without any invasive treatments in 1 month. After our initial appointment for my daughter, I was so impressed I booked an appointment for myself. I have had chronic migraines for years and have seen numerous neurologists. I had truly given up. My experience with Dr Grin's office staff, procedure and treatment have been outstanding. Not only is the whole staff super polite, but they're helpful and caring, including the doctor. I have just started my treatment with Dr. Grin and have been happy with the results so far! I was very pleased with the non-invasive approach, as this is something I certainly wanted to avoid. I am already experiencing relief from my TMD and am looking forward to progressing. Thank God for Dr Grin!! After a year and a half of misdiagnosis, he was able to find the root of my pain. My first time that I spent more than an hour with a Doctor getting to know my concerns I came in with a level of pain of 8+ and I am now on a almost zero, ! I visited Dr. Grin to address the annoying and painful cracking in my jaw. I assumed it was TMJ, but Dr. Grin diagnosed the issue as arthritis. We began treatment with Dr. Grin for my daughter who was experiencing migraines and jaw pain. Additionally, she had minimal range of motion with her jaw and was unable to open her mouth, making eating difficult. Dr. Grin is very thorough and methodical in his diagnostic techniques. After our initial visit, using the exercises and techniques he prescribed, relief was immediate. In combination with the specialized appliances that he developed for night use and sports use, the symptoms are now minimal. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Grin. As I mentioned, he is thorough and methodical, yet he is also caring and compassionate. He respects our appointment times; I was never left waiting while he concluded another patient's appointment. He always gave us his full and undivided attention. I never felt rushed or hurried; all of my - and my daughter's - questions and concerns were addressed. Equally important is that Dr. Grin addressed my daughter herself. Often adults speak to the parent and not the child, even when it is the child who is the patient. But not Dr. Grin. He spoke directly to my daughter and was respectful of her. Furthermore, his front office staff are friendly, professional, and efficient. Billing is accurate and timely. I cannot emphasize enough how pleased I am with Dr. Grin. He is exceptional.
