Great in every category!

Dr. Ian Leopold's work left me with a completely natural-looking upper front tooth that was previously chipped and repaired years ago but chipped again recently. His attention to my problematic bite required some extra fine tuning that reduced the chance of it getting damaged again. Before the procedure he offered me the option of with or without anesthetic and I chose "with". His injection technique was totally painless and so was the rest of the procedure. He also made sure I wasn't experiencing any sensitivity or pain. Meanwhile I listened to my music on my phone through the headphones I was offered. Dr. Ian is a careful and caring dentist who is easy to talk to and listen to. One of the little things I appreciate is the "status report" he gave as he worked. "Halfway done", "We'll do this a bunch of times" (bite and grind check), "Almost done", "Just buffing it out and we'll be done", etc. I found it reassuring to know what was happening and what to expect. I have been a satisfied patient at SLO Smiles in two different centuries, and it is no surprise to see how the practice has expanded and kept up to date. The technicians, hygienists and front desk staff are professional, friendly and courteous. Even though I now live in South County I have never considered changing to another dentist.

I haven’t been to the dentist in a very long time because of anxiety and nerves, but my dental assistant Brittany made me feel much more comfortable and kept me distracted with laughter! Dr. Main was really understanding of my fears made me feel like I was in control, while he talked me through every step. I am overall very happy with my experience!

I've been seen by Dr. Murphy and the staff for over 25 years and have always had the utmost confidence in their abilities. The facility is first rate. Any questions I have are always answered by the knowledgable people here. I never have to wait for my appointment and everyone is very nice. No need to be afraid of dentists here!

I had an amazing experience with SLO Smiles and Dr Ian Leopold. I went in with tremendous damage to my teeth at the age of 47. His calm friendly assistance has brought me from a state of bad teeth - through to dentures - and on to a beautiful set of full mouth implants that I am pretty sure are better than my originals! This change takes time - and he graciously allows a significant discount if you are able to prepay before the surgery is scheduled. I had many visits and his staff was always as pleasant and as supportive as could be. The end result is FABULOUS. Im now able to eat pretty much any and every food a denture wearer would avoid. the benefits go further than that. Travel will be Much Easier. These implants are a game changer. Now at the age of 49 I look forward to a much higher quality of life. I couldn't put how nice it feels to be "complete". Thank You SLO SMILES and Dr Ian. You all did a wonderful thing for me.

I have never been to a dentist office that makes you feel as welcome as SLO Smiles. Everyone of the staff is immensely friendly and helpful. Dr. Main is just as wonderful. I was able to get an emergency appointment in record time, even though I was a new patient. At appointment time they are very prompt and get me in right on time. I am very happy to be under their care.

Dr. Murphy is the best....he works very hard to make sure my dental work is done expertly.

I have been going to Dr. Murphy for longer than I can remember. My children (adults now) have also been going to Dr. Murphy for what seems like forever. First off, the back office organization is first rate. They are extremely punctual and I can't remember when they ever left me waiting .... which is exceptional for a doctor's office. Secondly, the dental treatment I have received from Dr. Murphy is by far the best. He really cares about not only the immediate issues, but the long term issues. He takes the time to explain what is going on, and my options. It is very important to him that his work not traumatize or be painful, which as I get older, is so appreciated. I would not trust my teeth to anyone but Dr. Murphy and have complete confidence in his work, as he is the most gifted dentist I have known. Once I get in his chair, I actually relax, because I know he will produce the best results. Thank you Nick!!

I have been going to Dr. Murphy for over 35 year. Why? because he and his staff are the very best. The front office, Hygiene Dept, Dental Assistants and Back office are all so friendly, helpful and professional. I and my wife consider them friends also. We Love them very much and would recommend them for you dental needs 100%.

Just had a crown put on, and the process was painless and quick. All done in one sitting! Dr Ian was great!

I'm old and cantankerous so i'm not going to comment on "caring", "compassionate" or bedside presence. For the 35 years that I've been a patient of Nick Murphy his competency is all that mattered. It is superlative! He's done dental that I thought "no way is this going to hold" (I split my face open in Mexico in a rock climbing accident and busted my front teeth in half). He GLUED new fakes on the stumps, cheaply, and 18 years later here they are perfect as I'm eating apples and corn galore. They even appear like my natural teeth. His very new periodontal treatment involving bacterial DNA has resulted in more vigor, strength and even outlook. Apparently pocket bacteria's low intensity infections affect the entire organism and can result in heart and stroke problems. I recommend the treatment. In short, Dr Murphy is a MASTER of his craft and I cannot recommend him more highly.

Meeting Dr. Leopold was by happenstance! A new procedure, called pinhole, was advertised on TV and I wanted to see if I was a candidate. While walking with friends I mentioned my desire to find a dentist who did this procedure. Needless to say, one of my walking friends had it done a couple of years ago and recommended Dr. Leopold.By far he is the best dentist I've ever had. He genuinely cared about my dental welfare and thoroughly explained the process. I was shocked when he told me I'd see immediate results. My recession no longer exists and my self esteem is restored. His staff provides excellent patient service, the operatories are immaculate, and everyone truly loves their job because their happy.
