My experience here at the New York Auto School has been great so far! Payment, scheduling & site convenient to access (via public transportation) has all been made very seamless and straightforward. When scheduling my my 5-hr class at the White Plains location (close to Metro-North station) and everyone was very calm and helpful around working with my schedule. While in attendance at the class, the instructor spoke clearly & was friendly— not making the class a nightmare to be in (as these types of classes are given bad reputation to be boring & the instructors to be unpleasant). Prior to the class, I got reminder emails and texts with the location and time so I could plan my trip accordingly. Being a new soon-to-be driver as an NYC resident, I can appreciate anything that saves me time & hassle. I appreciate it even more so when it’s done with compassion. Looking forward to my driving lessons in January. Thank you NYAS!!

Booking process for the 5-hour preliminary course, driving lessons and practical road tests over the phone was quick and easy. My driving instructor Joe Griffith was punctual, very polite, patient and encouraging. I would definetely recomment him and New York Auto School to all my friends.

Robin’s patience and clear instructions make me feel calm behind the wheel as I am learning. In addition to letting me know when I do something incorrectly, she acknowledges when I am doing something well. She is a great instructor.

Coming from Europe I felt I needed to brush up my theoretical and practical knowledge about driving in the US before tempting the road test. After the 5 hour course I booked one practice lesson and another practice lesson just before the road test. New York Auto School took care of all the bookings including the road test which was very easy. My driving instructor was Diego and I couldn't have had a better experience. Not only was he extremely helpful and patient with all my questions but he also reassured me and made me feel very relaxed. Also, he picked me up right at my doorstep which was very convenient. It felt more like two friends going for a ride rather than a teacher/student lesson:). Thanks to Diego I was ready and prepared for the road test and passed it at my first attempt.

It all worked very well. The driving instructor was punctually waiting for me at the train station and we started the driving class immediately. He was relaxed and pointed to me in a constructive manner all the mistakes I made, including those more "bad habit" than mistakes. The lesson was very useful to refresh my driving skills, and I passed the test. Thank you.

J DeFrancesco was my driving instructor who I had a one hour driving lesson with before my road test. He was very thorough with what to expect during the test. He had a calm and comforting voice and had good patience. He taught me a great technique in parallel parking. I had been driving since I was 13 from the country I was born and raised. But because of his good advice and techniques, I was able to pass my 1st road test as an adult with confidence.
