I've had a TMJ problem for 40+ years. Several months ago I had a flareup of symptoms, including morning headaches, tension in my jaw, and clicking/knocking sounds when opening and closing my mouth. I was referred to Dr. Paul Grin, an orofacial dentist specializing in pain management and TMJ disorders. On my first visit, Dr. Grin took my medical and dental history, examined the dental work in my mouth, and took precise measurements of my bite before making the mold. That same day I had imaging of the TMJs in the comfort of his office to rule out arthritis, etc. Based on Dr. Grin's clinical findings and extensive experience treating TMJ patients, I had a custom bite plate made that is worn on the lower teeth during sleep to prevent clenching of the mouth and grinding of teeth that exacerbate TMJ symptoms. I've been wearing this appliance for several months, and last week had a followup visit with Dr. Grin to report my progress. I was happy to report that I no longer have morning headaches and the clicking/knocking sounds in my jaw are almost gone! I am very pleased with these results. In short, Dr. Paul Grin in Torrance is a thorough, kind, patient and knowledgeable practitioner with many years of experience treating TMJ disorders, etc. He took time during visits to answer my questions and concerns. In addition, Dr. Grin's support staff is superb -- caring, very helpful, friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Paul Grin and am pleased to give him a "five star" rating.

Dr. Grin is such an incredible and very knowledgeable physician in all respects. He exudes a very caring and gentle approach to all issues. Patients are treated with the utmost courtesy and solutions to their issues. His staff deserves the highest of compliments treating all with such respect and kindness. I was concerned about problems with my jaw grinding and limited flexibility. The problem was quickly diagnosed and treatment prescribed. The issue is ongoing and chronic, but with the exercises prescribed, I have been able to resume completely normal activities.

I was so grateful to find Dr. Grin. I was trying multiple therapies for my TMJ disorder and didn’t know what was worth the time and money and what was not. Dr. Grin was able to explain the evidence or lack of evidence behind the different modalities. He has a great way of explaining things and has a calm demeanor that is comforting. Dr. Grinn and his staff are outstanding! They were exceptionally kind and accommodating. I needed a new dental appliance for sleep apnea at very short notice. I was able to get an appointment right away and they were immediately able to do all the measurements and impressions in their own office. I had a state of the art appliance within 2 weeks. I'll admit, it took me over a year to find Dr. Grin. I went through 4 other providers, mostly dentists, with no progress. Upon finally learning I needed to use my Medical insurance and not Dental I was able to get a referral and make an appointment. Small and warm offce in Torrence so I felt like a person and not a number. Front office ladies and his assistant very helpful and courteous. I have been going to Dr. Grin for over a year now and he has always been very attentive to my needs and concerns. Sadly, at my last check up I informed him I was moving out of the area. But he told me my progress was on schedule and gave me name of another colleague in my new area in order to continue treatment. I am very sad to have only been able to see him for a year (it took a year to find him) but I now have a better understanding on how to continue my treatment for TMJ issues going forward. So a big thank you to him and his staff. I HIGHLY recommend his office if you are having same issues.

Dr. Paul Grin has changed my life! I have been grinding my teeth since I have been about 5 years old. At some point I also picked up clinching during the daytime. I’ve suffered from migraines, neck, shoulder and excruciating jaw pain. After my initial appointment he recommended day and night oral appliance’s along with muscle relaxers. Since receiving my appliance, I have not awaken to pain in my jaw. Dr. Grin also recommended a newer migraine medicine that works better than my previous medication. My life is so much better! Before seeing Dr. Grin I couldn’t even eat a salad without being in pain. I’m so thankful to him and his staff. Thanks again Dr. Grin

I went to see Dr. Grin re a sleep apnea issue. He created and appliance for me, which fit perfectly. This led to a great improvement in my sleep quality. He was polite and professional. I found him kind and willing to answer all my questions. The office staff was welcoming and accommodating. It was an overall great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Grin.

I’ve been suffering from TMJ for years & finally reached a point where it was interfering with my quality of life. I would get frequent jaw pain which would lead to severe headaches as well other TMJ related issues. A friend referred me to Dr. Grin. Dr. Grin and his staff are amazing. His clinic is also a one stop shop that takes care of everything for you including imaging. My Fiancé had issues with staying awake while driving. We tried googling solutions but nothing worked. Told him to try going to a specialist but he said sleep specialist do not exist! Load and be hold after looking on Yelp we found South Bay TMJ who specializes in sleep, headaches, and orofacial pain! My fiancé took a chance and called to make an appointment. Very easy and was able to schedule him within a week and sent new patient forms online to fill out and return. Came to the office with my fiancé. Parking was easy and the office was very clean and welcoming. The front ladies greeted us, all with smiles. We were able to meet with both Drs. Grin. A father and son! Both VERY knowledgeable and answered every question we had. The front ladies were so accommodating! My fiancé was wondering where he can pick up his medication and they suggested locations near by and even called a pharmacy to see if they took his insurance! Definitely went above and beyond. After leaving the office, my fiancé said he felt everyone he encountered, the doctors, assistants, and the front staff actually cared about his well-being and he never felt that way before leaving a medical place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND in coming here. You can feel the family atmosphere and come out feeling great.

I have been with Dr. Grin for eight years . He has treated me for nerve damage and TMJ. He is very knowledgeable in both these fields. I have complete trust in his ability as a specialist. This is one Doctor who does not rush you through an appointment. His staff is professional and courteous with his clientele.

I have had problems with clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth since my 20's. In the past few years it had gotten so bad that my jaw just hurt all of the time. Dr. Grin fixed it! He replaced the night appliance from my dentist (designed only to protect the teeth) with one that would also protect my jaw. It has worked amazingly and I am now pain-free! Very attentive to my TMJ pain from the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I’m currently in treatment and interested to see how the final results will manifest within a year as we work on restricting my jaw. I am already in a lot less pain.
