I was comfortable throughout the procedure. There was some difficulty locating the vas on my left side. A lessor Dr. would have been satisfied that 1 side had already been repaired, but Dr. Sommers stayed with it ensuring both sides were repaired. I appreciate the great service at an affordable price!

We drove from Kentucky to get my reversal done on August 4, 2016. As soon as we arrived, they were there to meet us and we're very kind, professional people. Very clean office and procedure area, with another room for sterile items. Dr. Thomas was very professional and informative. My procedure was basically pain free. My wife and I were only there for approximately 2 hrs total. I've experienced little to no pain since that day. Recovery has been so much better than I thought it was going to be. He even called the next day to check on me. For the price and professionalism, look no further!

I had my reversal the other day. At first I was nervous to get it done. Not to mention the average price was around $7,000 to $12,000 with other doctors. Finding it with Dr. Sommers for $3,000 had me a little worried. Wondering, how good could it really be for a fraction of the price of the "other guys"? But to my surprise it was such an incredible experience! I can literally say I have had worse teeth cleanings at the dentist! I didn't feel a thing, Dr. Sommers and his amazing assistant Kathy constantly asked me how I was doing throughout the short hour and half procedure. If I was just the slightest bit uncomfortable Dr. Sommers would use more local anesthesia. If you are unsure (like I was before the surgery), I strongly, strongly recommend Midwest Vasectomy Reversals! No surprises, everything went exactly as stated. Actually was easier than I had anticipated.

We came from Council Bluffs, Ia to have this procedure done and it was well worth the night in a hotel. I was a complete mess about having a reversal. I was even more scared as I walked into Dr. Sommers clinic the morning of my procedure. My wife and I talked to him about what was going to happen. He reassured me that everything will be alright. That didn't stop me from being nervous. Dr. Sommers talked me through every step of the procedure as we were doing it. Not only that we made light conversation. Which really helped my tension. He asked me why I was doing this and we talked baby names. It really helped me. For the pain, there were moments where it was uncomfortable sure. But it wasn't bad at all. It was well worth me being able to have children again. We spoke to an Urologist about having a reversal before we contacted Midwest and that Doctor said he does 1 or 2 a year and expects a 50/50 chance of success. Not to mention his office was going to charge $6500. More than 2x times as much. Dr. Sommers has a much higher success rate and this is what he does. I trusted and trust him. I am beyond pleased to have gone this route. If you are on the fence of getting it done here. Don't worry anymore this is the place to have it done!

I was impressed with the explanation of everything and the preparation, as well as the surgery itself. It's a surgery with a whole new meaning. I'm just thankful that I had it done here due to the fact that the Dr. has had the same surgery himself, therefore he knows when and where any discomfort maybe and he makes sure to make sure the discomfort or pain will not exist, unlike my vas experience previously at a different dr. I feel that anyone that is going to have this done look no further than here , because of his experience his self, having it done, not to mention the staff was great and just as helpful and answered all my questions. I highly recommend him. We drove 4 hrs there then 4 hrs home it was well worth the drive. Make sure to do as directed and take time to heal. Another awesome thing he called and texted to see how I was following up, that was appreciated. Thank you for my new future to come.

I came across Midwest Vasectomy reversals while navigating through the internet trying to find the best option at a price that we could afford. After reading all the positive review and understanding how well previous patients felt about the staff and DR. Sommers we decided to schedule the appointment. I have to admit that at first there was a certain level of nervousness because of the low cost (compared to other options) of the procedure. After we arrived the day of the procedure, all that nervousness went away. Their staff makes you feel like you are at home. They are very professional. Dr. Sommers takes the time to go over the entire procedure. Discusses the pre and post procedure instructions and gives opportunities for Q's and A's before starting. He also did a great Job communication with me throughout the procedure explaining what was happening and to make sure that I was always comfortable. Pain was very moderate and after taking the prescribed medication I was able to return back to work within 3 days. Now just waiting to report back with a positive pregnancy test result. I highly recommend Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. I can honestly say that we made the right decision coming.

The staff was excellent every way imaginable. The information provided, the communication before the procedure and the information provided after. Procedure was exactly as they advertise and advise before and during the procedure. It was easy to see the knowledge and expertise of Dr. Sommers. Book with confidence! Dr. Sommers is great! Procedure was very quick. After the local anesthesia was applied I did not feel anything and talked to Dr. Sommers and staff the whole time. Took it easy post op, but was able to move around with minimal discomfort and returning to work after 3 days was not a problem. This went very well for me and I'm pleased with the overall professionalism of this experience.

We were able to ask any question with a prompt response in the weeks leading up to the procedure. My wife and I came in town the night before my procedure.the next day arrived around 730am and talked with Dr Sommers and he and his staff put us at ease and answered All our questions. The procedure was a breeze about one and half hour or less!! My wife went and got my prescriptions and I was able to text her to comeback the procedure was about complete! I was sore for a couple days but I used ice packs And I'm taking the antibiotic and feeling much better in less than a week since the procedure! My wife and I spent a considerable amount of time researching where to have my vasectomy reversal performed. I wanted to find a physician that would perform the reversal under local anesthesia as opposed to general anesthesia to avoid postoperative nausea/vomiting, a sore throat and the other risks/side effects of general anesthesia. After researching MVR/Dr. Sommers we knew we found the physician to perform my procedure. The whole process including scheduling, preoperative, the procedure, and postoperative care has been first class. We arrived at the office at 0730 for the preop consultation. Dr. Sommers went over the procedure technique, risk, benifits etc. Dr. Sommers offered very thorough explanations and was a consummate professional. I then entered the procedure room around 0800. The administration of local anesthesia resulted in very minor discomfort that was easily tolerated. I felt no pain during the procedure. I walked out of the office at 0930, pain free. The 5.5 hour drive home was a piece of cake. It is without hesitation that I recommended Dr. Sommers for anyone considering a vasectomy reversal.

I had my reversal done on 04-09-16. Prior to the procedure, Dr. Sommers met with my wife and I to tell us how the procedure would go. After the meeting my wife left to fill my prescriptions and I went into the operating room. The procedure itself lasted about an hour and a half. I very comfortable throughout the procedure. I felt a little tugging and some moderate pressure during the procedure, but nothing too bad. When Dr. Sommers saw I was in a little pain he would stop and inject more anesthetic. After the procedure Dr. Sommers met with my wife and I again to discuss how the procedure went. We then left and drove home, which was about 2 hours away. The ride home was fine. As recommended, I iced for myself for the first 12 hours and took my prescribed medication. I highly recommend icing for the 12 consecutive hours. I had very little, if any, swelling and only minor bruising. I honestly had more pain, swelling and bruising after my vasectomy than the reversal. So to the best part of this story.... this morning (03-17-16), just a little over a month out from my reversal, my wife had a positive pregnancy test!!! We are so grateful to Dr. Sommers and his staff. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sommers to anybody wishing to have their vasectomy reversed. Thanks again Dr. Sommers!!

Antwone was very nervous for the surgery. We stayed up until 1am reading reviews the night before (even though we had already spent hours and months researching!). It was comforting hearing from other people who had been through the surgery. We initially chose Midwest because of the fair and affordable price. (We were excited that this was in reach for us, and wouldn't be 10,000 like most places) so now that this was a reality we dug a little further. Knowing that Dr. Simmers went through the same procedure and was able to continue his family really gave us hope. We saved up the money and took advantage of the cash discount (super cool that they would even offer this!) and booked our appointment. Surgery day came and we prepared for any worst case scenario. We were greeted by friendly office staff and the Dr took us in together for the consult right away. We were able to ask questions, although we had none because we spent so much time researching. Dr. Explained everything to us and got him in right away for surgery. We were able to text throughout most of the appointment which was comforting. Pain was very minimal during the procedure---essentially painless after the first shot of anesthetic. Entire procedure took 1 hr 30 minutes at most!! This was awesome! Dr also was also able to see a lot of sperm present which was exciting and gave us faith and hope! Post op was the hardest part (and it wasn't even hard, but the surgery was such a breeze that the aftermath was the only part where any soreness/mild pain occurred). We filled both prescriptions at nearby Walmart and it was $30 total without insurance. We used the antibiotics, pain pills and ibuprofen to help with swelling. The pain was much less than we expected, and easy to tolerate with these tools. Surgery was Thursday morning, and back to work by Monday with a note for light duty (thank you ladies for kindly printing this for us!). Dr will text you the next day just to check on you and make sure you are okay and don't have any questions (geez how many doctors do this?!). We are approaching the 2 week mark and things are going fine. Minor pain/soreness here and there but nothing that isn't relieved by a bag of frozen peas. Without being too graphic-the 2 small incisions on the ball sack are healing beautifully!!! (They are smaller than an ant in length...we couldn't even think of a good example to show measure because the incisions are so small, for anyone worried about their man parts. The 2 tiny little incisions look like a small scratch and are healing wonderfully and getting less noticeable each day). We are beyond thankful to the Dr and his team for allowing couples the chance to achieve their dream of having a family at an affordable cost. We felt like a weight had been lifted after surgery and it's made our relationship so much stronger! We hope to come back soon with great news. For anyone who is on the fence about this Dr, his talents, the cost, or any other fears, please take our advice and go for it. Worth every penny!!! We waited over a year to schedule and had we done this sooner we would already have a baby! Dr and his staff were amazing. The whole experience was wonderful. Dr. Sommers was very knowledgeable and explained everything. The staff was very helpful and caring. I live in St Louis so I didn't have to travel very far to his office. Upon arrival at the doctors office, my partner and I were both greeted warmly. The doctor went over the entire procedure with us and described everything. He then sent my partner out for a few supplies while I was undergoing the surgery. I wasn't nervous but the doctor was very reassuring anyway. Throughout the procedure, I experienced no pain. I only felt a little bit of tugging. I chatted with Dr. Sommers the entire procedure and it went by rather quickly. I was very impressed with his work. After the procedure was over, my partner and I got all the necessary paperwork and after surgery information that we needed and we were quickly on our way. I am writing this review 2 weeks after my procedure and I'm all healed up. I had very little pain for 3-5 days and then no pain at all. All in all it was a good experience. A great doctor doing great work at a great price. Thank you Dr. Sommers and staff.

I had my reversal on January 14,2016. I was anxious to get it done due to a bad experience with my vasectomy but the website and other people's reviews answered a lot of questions about the procedure and level of pain. I went in the morning and Dr. Sommers made sure I knew everything that would happen. Throughout the entire procedure, he would tell me what he was doing. Pain was....different but tolerable! After the anesthesia set in, I felt minor tugging, but nothing bad. After care was very easy with medication and rest. We were not expecting getting pregnant immediately, but that is what happened!! Wife got pregnant 5 weeks later and our baby boy was born on Nov 10...We are so thankful!

Dr Sommers and his staff made us feel so welcome and relaxed about the surgery. Dr Sommers did a great job explaining the procedure prior to taking me back and then we had a great chat during the procedure. I never felt any pain and was very relaxed the entire procedure. He even gave me a call the next morning to check in and make sure I was feeling alright! I am about 2 weeks out from the procedure and everything is healing beautifully with very little to no pain at this point. I had one minor concern and contacted Dr Sommers yesterday and he was very quick to get right back with me to alleviate my concerns and reassure that all was well and healing properly. MVR was very personable and procedure was comfortable. We were concerned with quality and cost, but pleasantly had our minds put to ease with Dr. Sommers and the facility. The local anesthesia was enough to control pain. We used ib profen and didn't even use the prescription for pain medication. We are very happy with our experience and hopeful to add to our family.

Excellent experience for what I had done. Dr. Sommers reviewed what he was going to do along with answering questions before hand. I was still very nervous but the first shot felt like getting snapped with a rubber band but after that nothing. I walked like a cowboy for a couple days more out of fear of pain than actually having any. I was given Norco to take if needed but I didn't end up using any of it. I just iced and used Ibuprofen for the first 2 days and have been fine since. In fact I keep having to remind myself to not pick up heavy things because I feel fine. Best experience I could hope for when someone is messing with such a sensitive area.

We traveled from Michigan and came back the same day of the procedure with no issues (7 hrs drive). Dr. Sommers and his staff are very professional and gave us all the information needed before and after the surgery and everything was as told. Overall It was a very painless operation, once the local anesthesia was applied, I did not feel anything for the rest of the procedure.
