Ultra friendly staff who were helpful in every aspect of the reversal surgery. Pain was minimal and an uncomfortable situation was very tolerable. Where to begin?? First of all I would like to thank Dr. Sommers on behalf of myself and my entire family. Coming from such a distance and having to fly made the experience very taxing on all of us. The ease of the staff and especially the level to which all involved made me feel comfortable was crucial in making the experience as painless as possible for myself, and for my wife who stayed home and communicated with me via telephone. The surgery was quick and I was able to fly home the same day independently. Recovery was swift and compared to my initial vasectomy, much quicker!! Saving the best for last, the procedure was a success and my wife became pregnant the month following the surgery. We are expecting twin boys in May!!! God bless and thank you from all of us.

When my wife and I made the decision to have my vasectomy reversed, we researched our options for six months. There is a lot of risk involved with this procedure, and we were afraid of spending more than $10,000 on a procedure that may or may not work. When we found MVR, it was as if our prayers had been answered. Right in our backyard, Dr. Sommers was performing this procedure for an amazingly discounted rate, yet his credentials, experience, and knowledge on the subject proved his expertise. As Catholics ourselves, we were also pleased to read about his faith-based practice. I'd had "vasclips" put in about seven years prior; when my wife contacted MVR to ask about the procedure, Dr. Sommers responded within 12 hours with a detailed explanation of the vasclip reversal procedure, which thoroughly eased our minds. After that, my wife was conversing with Dr. Sommers's assistant Tara at least once per week until the appointment was scheduled (Tara was extremely helpful in finding a date that worked for us.) When VR day arrived, the experience far exceeded our expectations. The whole office was shut down and locked up for us. Dr.'s assistant Carrie took very good care of us, and made sure we felt at home. She answered my wife's questions openly and honestly, and did much to keep her calm. My wife was free to move around, relax, and get my prescriptions ready so that the transition from office to home was as quick and as comfortable as possible. The consultation was informative and encouraging; Dr. Sommers answered all of my questions and prepared me for what to expect. The procedure went by much more quickly than I had expected - this was a much more comfortable experience than my vasectomy had been. The local anesthesia was perfect for controlling the pain. Dr. Sommers is extremely meticulous, but he kept the mood light with his excellent bedside manner and his dry sense of humor when I would poke him for a joke. Dr. Sommers's follow-up was also very helpful; he made sure that I had the medication I needed as soon as I needed it, and gave some excellent advice to help the recovery process along. Overall, we are truly blessed to have come upon Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. I couldn't imagine having endured this procedure under anybody else's care.

Excellent service even though the doctor gave me something for pain I haven't had to take any of it. I had more trouble with original vasectomy than when he reversed it for me. I couldn't have imagined any better experience. Me and the doctor had some good conversations while he worked on me and there was no pain involved in the procedure.

I drove 4.5 hours to get courteous and professional service. The cost is indisputably low. Quality of service is far greater than the cost. After prayerfully making the decision to try to have another child we started looking at our options. Most options were very expensive, making us doubt that we could afford a reversal. Dr. Sommers was professional and knowledgable. He made sure that my wife and I were we'll informed before, during and after the procedure. The office was comfortable and easy to find and you couldn't find a better staff. Not only did they make sure that I was comfortable throughout the procedure, they also made sure my wife was comfortable too in a cozy waiting room with snacks and regular updates being texted to her. After the procedure the dr continued to make sure that we both understood the post-op instructions. He followed up the next day with a call and when I have contacted him, he has gotten back to me right away. I was very happy with my experience and would recommend Midwest Vasectomy Reversals to anyone who is thinking about a reversal.

Our experience was great everybody at the practice was really friendly they made our visit nice and comfy I was surprised how smooth and easy it went

I have to admit that I was very nervous about the procedure for many reasons. But, from the moment we arrived for my appointment I started to feel at ease. Tara met my wife and I when we entered the office and she was very pleasant. We then met with Dr Sommers and he explained the procedure and what to expect. The surgery itself was a piece of cake. The anesthesia worked and I didn't feel a thing. I was able to talk with Dr Sommers and the nurse ( I believe her name was Carrie...sorry) the whole time and also text with my wife. It has been three days since surgery and I haven't really had any pain, just mild discomfort. I would recommend Dr Sommers to anybody who is considering this procedure.

The doctor and his nurse where very welcoming and made me feel comfortable at all times. The doctor was very informative before, during, and after the surgery. The over all atmosphere in the office was relaxing and calming to me after flying in from California that morning for my appointment. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Sommers to anyone interested in this type of procedure.

Their facility is very comfortable and clean. Oh, and yes the reversal procedure was a success which was surprising to me because of my age and the length of time which had past since I had my vasectomy. I'm very glad we drove 6.5 hours to have my reversal done by Dr Sommers. I was very nervous about the length of the procedure and being under only local anesthesia, but Dr Sommers did a tremendous job from start to finish. Dr Sommers and his nurse kept me comfortable the entire procedure and I didn't even need to use my iPod that I brought with me. Everything about my experience was fantastic! Dr. Sommers and his staff were very comforting through the whole process. He was very informative before, after and during the surgery. I was comfortable through the surgery and his wife Kathy and his assistant were there to make sure my wife was at ease with the surgery. Although it is very unnerving for men to go through this procedure they were there every step of the way to ease our concerns. The quality of care was above expectations.

Kathy and dr. Sommers were wonderful. We almost didn't make it in town because of a snowstorm and they were more than willing to fit us in if we had a problem. Kathy called us immediately in response to an email with our concerns. Office was clean, comfortable and very easy to find. Local anesthesia was great and my husband (who can be a bit squeamish) was very relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. He is healing nicely and has had his pain very manageable. As a nurse, I realize how important all of these things can be and admit that I am sometimes hard to please but dr. Sommers, his assistant and Kathy were wonderful. I can't say enough good things to say about my visit to Midwest Vasectomy Reversal. I was very nervous about my procedure, but Dr. Sommers quickly eased my worries. He was very friendly, and didn't have that look that most doctors have, like they have more important places to be, and you are bothering them. The procedure went well, and was over much quicker than I expected. At no time did I feel any real discomfort, and I was constantly asked how I was feeling. I appreciate that level of concern. Although I don't know yet, how successful I will be, in the future, I do know that I'll never be able to thank Dr. Sommers enough for what he has given my family, a second chance.
