Service was outstanding! They were very prompt in answering all questions and very thorough leading up to the procedure. Dr. Sommers and his staff were very clean and professional and kept our experience light. They were great at calming all nerves and reassuring us through every step of the way! During the procedure we took our 4 kids since we had to travel 9 hours and they updated us throughout and suggested places for us to explore! Dr. Sommers even took the time to check in with us post procedure. Overall an amazing experience and he will be who we recommend to anyone who is ready to take the next step for their family. Very professional and courteous staff. Dr. Sommers is very knowledgeable. I was kept comfortable during the procedure and they will follow up with you within a day afterwards. They are also responsive to email and/or text should you have any questions.

My experience with Dr. Sommers and his team was amazing. The surgery was quick and nearly painless, all of my questions were answered both before and after the procedure, and they even allowed my partner to come into the operating suite with me, so she could watch the procedure and ask any questions she had. I am now 2 days post-op, have nearly no pain, and only minor swelling. I'm not even needing to take Tylenol at this point, and am doing even better than what I was instructed to expect. Immediately after the surgery Dr. Sommers even showed me a sample taken during the surgery which showed active sperm, which is a great sign! This morning, he also called me on his personal cell phone, to check in and see how I was doing. Top notch care, top notch doctor and surgical team, and a five star review.

I was very nervous before I went in because I did not know what to expect. I was worried about the pain and because we were traveling six hours from our home to get the procedure. Dr. Sommers was very informative during the entire procedure by explaining what he is doing and what it may feel like because he has been in the same seat I was before. I followed the recommendations from the doctor on icing and taking it easy. I had very little to no pain and I am doing great. I would highly recommend Dr. Sommers.

Dr. Sommers and staff were wonderful to work with and the whole experience was surprisingly much easier and quicker than I was anticipating. I had concerns of pain but it was painless and very well done. I would highly recommend Dr. Sommers to anyone considering the procedure.

Dr. Sommers and Staff, In August of 2014, my husband and I came in from Chicago for him to have a vasectomy reversal. When we began researching this procedure, we were disappointed to find it to be very expensive and requiring anesthesia. My husband laid down some pretty strict requirements for who he wanted to find. He said, "I want to find the guy who does this procedure all of the time, not just someone who does it once in a while. I want the guy who knows what he's doing!". Our research also indicated that there could be little chance of his reversal being successful after nearly 10 years and complications could mean lifelong pain. As he had a complication during the original procedure, he was nervous about the reversal. After much prayer, we believe the Lord lead us to your practice! What a gift to discover that not only are you "the guy who knows what he's doing", but offered the service at a price we could afford, didn't require anesthesia, had actually undergone the procedure yourself, and had a calling to help couples restore their fertility. We were blown away to have all of those boxes checked! The staff was so compassionate and kind. We were able to stay in touch during the procedure and it went without a hitch! Since the original procedure was done under general anesthesia, we were pleased that local anesthesia was enough to control the pain and the riskier, more expensive anesthesia was not necessary. We were able to drive back the same day to Chicago without too much discomfort. We want to let you know that the surgery was a complete success and we are expecting our first child in October! (His initial tests came back great, but I have fertility issues that delayed our ability to conceive). Thank you for what you do to help families like ours. May God continue to bless your practice.

I got my reversal done today and it went great! The doctor and staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a 9:30 appointment but there was a cancellation so we got moved up a bit which was perfect for us. They made us feel comfortable about the procedure and went over everything before hand. I never felt any pain during the procedure and only have had little discomfort so far. The price is amazing and after “shopping around” they were the cheapest by far. The office is very clean and nice! They also made the scheduling and paying process very easy. I know my wife really appreciated the emails with all the info for the day of because it made it easy to plan the day out. We both would recommend Dr. Sommer’s and his team! Thanks again

My experience with Dr. Sommers was great. I came in from Chicago the night before the procedure. After the procedure, which went absolutely great by the way, I was able to ride back to Chicago without any issues. The local anesthesia was more than enough to control the pain and for the low price I received excellent service. I will highly recommend Dr. Sommers.

My husband and I had his procedure done on March 4th, 2019. St.Louis is about a two hour drive from our house and so we left a bit early to make sure we were there right on time. From the receptionist, to the nurse, to Dr. Sommers everyone was so professional and helpful. They were with my husband every step of the way and made sure he was comfortable the entire time. They kept me updated on his progress and even allowed him to text me during the procedure so that we were in constant contact. The local anesthetic worked great and my husband did not feel a thing the whole procedure. He was sore for about a week afterwards, but per doctors instructions he did not lift anything over 15 pounds until the third week mark. Now he’s back to normal and we are excited to start trying! I definitely would 100% recommend Dr. Sommers and his team. You cannot beat the price or professionalism!

I heard about Dr. Sommers through the internet. I drove from Ohio (8 hours). I drove in the night before loaded up the Yeti with ice and stayed at the Drury Inn right down the road. Everyone in the office is absolutley friendly. He brings you in to his office to explain the procedure and then you go into the procedure room. You are given a numbing agent and then a few minutes later its off to the races. The procedure itself is quite painless. A little pressure and discomfort here and there but thats about it. My wife drove us home. The drive home wasn't an issue at all. I iced the entire way home. A couple bathroom and fuel stops and then we were home before you know it. The recovery time was quick. I felt like this whole ordeal was pretty great. Only time will tell if the procedure works! I am very happy with my overall experience.

We came from Ohio to have the vasectomy reversal on December 20. Everything went very well and the procedure took less than an hour. It was a great experience. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and I am 5 weeks pregnant and we are expecting our beautiful baby in November! We are so thankful to Dr. Sommers and staff. Most of all we are thankful to God and give him all the glory. We are so happy!

They were accommodating and helpful in getting me an appointment scheduled in a very short timeframe. Dr. Sommers was personable and professional. He made every effort to ensure comfort during the procedure. Discomfort was negligible, and only during the initial numbing. Absolutely no sensation during actual surgery. My post-surgery bruising and discomfort has been far less that my original vasectomy (1.5 years ago by a different physician). My wife and I are hopeful for a positive and fertile outcome.

I had my vasectomy in October 2017 with a local doctor in my home town. It was quickly followed by pain that lasted a year into the vasectomy. It opened the conversation to reverse the vasectomy in hopes to stop the pain as well as to have more children. My wife and I found Dr Sommers and were immediately drawn to him because of his friends office staff and their quick response time. We drove 6 hours to see Dr Sommers and it was well worth the drive. He spoke with my wife and I before the procedure and allowed us to ask questions to get a clear understand of what to expect. The procedure lasted about 2 hours and was completely painless from start to finish. My wife and I drove home immediately following the procedure with no complications or pain. I just made sure to bring a cooler for ice and a few bags of peas for the ride home. I am now 3 days out from the reversal and have had minimal swelling and virtually no pain. I would highly recommend Dr Sommers as he is professional, clean and extremely knowledgeable. We are excited to see where the future takes our family and hope to add children soon.

My husband had his vasectomy reversal on Monday, December 31st. It was about 7 years since his vasectomy. To make a long story short, I felt for years that the vasectomy was a mistake. It took me years of prayer before I felt it was time to share my feelings with my husband. He was receptive, but needed time to process things. In time, with a lot of prayer and discussion, we were on the same page. I began to do some research and found information about Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. As others have said, the cost was a blessing, but also a potential concern given the prices of other providers. It still took us several months to make the appointment, but we eventually felt it was definitely the right decision for us. We drove 6 hours to St. Louis the day before the procedure. We did bring our own cooler with ice packs and frozen pees, in case we weren’t able to stop anywhere or I wasn’t comfortable venturing out during the procedure. We also brought ibuprofen just in case. We found the office the night before too, so we would know where we were going in the morning. Our appointment was at 7:30, we arrived a little early, although we were a couple minutes later than requested because we wanted to take a moment to pray together in the car before going in. The office was very pleasant and clean. The staff was courteous and Dr. Sommers was kind, professional, but still funny and personable. My husband said he was comfortable during the procedure, much more so than his vasectomy, and was able to communicate with me via text. He said he had great communication with the doctor, and felt at ease the whole time. I did fill his prescription for pain medication during the procedure, just in case. After the procedure, we had a short meeting with the doctor and we were on our way. The whole process took about 2 hours. My husband was able to walk around when we stopped during the drive back, and helped drive (he didn’t take anything except ibuprofen until we got home). He has been healing well so far and is able to manage his pain with ibuprofen. We are still very early in the process of healing, but so far he is doing well. As other reviewers have stated, we realize there are no guarantees with this, and there are many factors in play. God’s plan, not ours. Whatever the outcome, we had a great experience at MVR. Truthfully, it still doesn’t even seem real to me that it’s over, after so many years of praying and feeling such an emptiness about our decision not to trust God with our family size. I would highly recommend Midwest Vasectomy Reversal! We traveled almost 8 hours and it was totally worth it. The staff and Dr Sommers were all very friendly and informative. The price is low, but the quality is high! I am proof he does an excellent job because my husband's surgery was on Dec 17 2018 (7 years after his vasectomy) and I got a positive pregnancy test on Jan 20th! I wasn't expecting such fast results considering everything I have read said 4-6 months for counts to return to normal, guess we won't be needing the sperm analysis done! :) My husband and I traveled the 8 hours back home the same day as the procedure and he was fairly comfortable, he did take the pain meds for a couple days, but was back to work as a truck driver 3 days later so just ibuprofen then. He had very minimal bruising and swelling and was back to normal within 2 weeks. Hoping for a healthy pregnancy and baby! Fingers crossed for baby pictures in 9 months! Very comfortable environment. Very professional and friendly. It all went alot faster than I expected and dr. Somers talked to me thru the whole surgery and makes sure that you are comfortable the whole time he is doing the surgery. He truly cares about his profession and his patients. Wanted to share my excellent experience at Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. I had gotten a few consultations here in Charlotte NC when a friend recommended that I consider Dr. Sommers for the procedure. At first, I was pretty certain that I did not want to travel to St Louis to get a procedure like this done based on fear of the pain, the travel and just the logistics of the whole thing. But after reading some of the testimonials and learning that this was his specialty, I became open to the idea. One of my biggest concerns was travel - how could I get this surgery done and then jump on a plane? Sounded crazy. But after talking to the staff, I was assured that traveling after procedure would be ok, safe for the outcome and that I would have some pain medication if needed, I felt better. And considering the cost savings (he as more than $5000 less expensive than the lowest local option), buying a plane ticket and hotel room was not really an issue. So my wife and I decided this would be the best option. I arrived in St Louis the day before the procedure and was scheduled for the first surgery at 730am the next day. When I arrived that morning, I was greeted by the team and they could not have been more pleasant and welcoming. After checking-in, we sat down with Dr. Sommers to talk thru the details of the procedure and what I could expect. Then we got started. As promised, the procedure was pretty simple and painless. Seriously, it did not hurt at all. Dr Sommers used a local anesthetic to make me numb - and note this was done without the use of any needles. I was totally numb and could not feel a thing except some pressure. It is most similar to having dental work done with novocaine. Dr Sommers talked me thru every step of the process during the procedure and made me feel at ease. Again, this was totally pain free, only a little of temporary discomfort. Dr. Sommers frequently asked how I was feeling and made sure I was totally numb. In less than 2 hours, we were done and I was ready to go home. During the procedure, my wife went across the street to get some prescriptions filled and I was ready to leave. I did have some discomfort and swelling later that day, but the flight home was no big deal and we had not issues. I used some of the pain medication for the travel and that evening, but did not have much of a need after - ibuprofen has been enough. Lots of rest and ice and now on day 4, most of the swelling and discomfort is gone and I am feeling mostly back to normal. BTW, Dr Sommers also called me the next day to make sure I was doing well. Awesome customer service and care. All in all, this was a very easy process and I would recommend anyone thinking about having this done to consider Dr Sommers and the team at Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. They are professional, they are experts in this field and they really do care about the patient experience. Double thumbs-up for these guys. 10 out of 10 for me.

We came out of town to see him... I contacted them numerous times due to trepidation dealing out of town with people I couldn't see. They were very informative and patient prior to, day off, and doctor himself contacted us the day after. I am pretty picky dealing with doctors and I am confident he knew what he was doing. We have had no problems since my husband had his procedure. I am nearly 45 so pregnancy will be much harder for us but I know we chose the right doctor for this first step on our journey. From the start of the procedure which included calling to schedule a consultation to the date of the procedure the staff at Midwest Vasectomy Reversals were nothing but professional, honest and very courteous. Dr. Summers explained everything in full detail, and was helpful in answering all the questions my wife and I had. The procedure itself was very painless. I think total time spent in the office that day to include check in, procedure and checking out, we were in there for less than 2 hours. The reversal actually did not hurt, in fact the actual vasectomy I had done initially hurt worse than the reversal. Anytime that I have had to reach out to Dr. Summers to ask a question he has always responded in a very timely manner. If I had to do the reversal again, I would most certainly choose Midwest Vasectomy Reversals.

Blessing from God! My husband had a vasectomy reversal in Nov 2018 after having his vasectomy 15 years ago. We cannot say enough amazing things about Dr Sommers and his staff at Midwest Vasectomy reversals! From the time we scheduled our appointment the staff was completely hands on and very responsive. The day of the procedure they did everything to make not just my husband but myself very comfortable and well informed. We traveled from Madison, WI to have the procedure done and wouldn't have done it any other way. It is worth the trip and time. Being in the medical field myself I am very cautious of the care my family receives, we couldn't have been in better hands! The affordable cost does not reflect the level of care given. Dr Sommers was extremely knowledgeable and comfortable and did an excellent job. He called to check on my husband the day after the procedure and was very responsive even on Thanksgiving day to questions we had. My husband said that he had very minimal pain while the local anesthesia was placed and remained very comfortable during the procedure. He loved that he did not have to be put to sleep and it was much less painful than his vasectomy he had preformed 15 years ago. He recovered well and we are hopeful for Gods will for our family.
