The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. The surgical tech and Dr. Sommers was very helpful in explaining everything. Dr. Sommers gave my wife a "to do" list so she would be able to help me in recovery. The pain was less than vasectomy initially and I really feel like I'm healing well. I plan on following up in the future on the status of our journey to parenthood.

We were referred to Midwest Vasectomy Reversals by a friend who recently had his reversal done by Dr Sommers. We had to fly in from Charlotte, NC and we're not knowing what to expect. Dr Sommers and his staff were wonderful. The procedure was shorter than expected and my husband was comfortable the entire time. Our biggest concern was traveling back home immediately after the procedure. Surprisingly, the local anesthesia lasted long enough to get us back to Charlotte. Dr. Sommers and his staff were very nice and made me feel comfortable before, during, and after the surgery. I was cautious about going there because of it being low cost, but felt confident when I got there. Dr. Sommers was very knowledgable and explained everything thoroughly. It was definetly worth the savings and my wife was pregnant 3 months later.

After the birth of our child in October of 2013, we were so overwhelmed with the needs of our children and the stresses of life. My husband felt very strongly that a vasectomy was the answer. I didn't have peace about it. It wasn't that I wanted more children at that time but I didn't want to shut the door forever. After his vasectomy, it truly felt like "life" was removed from so many areas of our lives- not just our fertility. It was heartbreaking to me and him. It felt like such a loss. Our marriage suffered. It was not the right decision for us. Some couples have no problem with having a vasectomy... but we did. After much prayer and fasting, we believed God wanted us to pursue getting a reversal. My husband was so humble to take such a bold step in repairing his body. It required courage and faith. We began to pray that God would lead us to someone who could help us. It was very scary for me, as a wife, to know that so much was at stake. We found Dr. Sommers on the internet and he had an opening the following week unlike most of the other popular doctors that had a 4-6 month waiting list. We quickly took the appointment and drove 7 hours where we spent the night in a hotel for our 7:30 am appointment. I was so scared and would have turned around and drove back home but my husband was committed to his decision. We enjoyed talking to Dr. Sommers before the appt and understanding exactly what was about to take place. The staff was very respectful and professional. During the procedure, his wife spent time talking to me and comforting me about our decision. It meant the world to have her there with me. I am sure that was rare but I am so thankful she was available to sit with me during the procedure. We drove straight home from his office. My husband felt no pain at all during the drive. We are a month out now. I don't know that we will ever have another child but my husband and I are both so relieved that we have not closed the door and that "life" is restored in our marriage. Dr. Sommers was an answer to our prayers and we are eternally grateful for how God used him in our lives. It was the best experience possible. My husband is doing great after 2/3 weeks of recovery with very little pain. We are so thankful that we made this decision and chose life and trusting God over taking things into our own hands. We don't know what God has in store for us but we are trusting Him to show us how to trust Him to lead us every step of the way. God is faithful. If you are torn about where to go for this procedure, please rest assured this is a safe and wonderful choice. 5 stars!

I traveled 5 hours to Dr. Sommers office were myself and my family was welcomed and treated great the whole time. I had my surgery and was able to drive all way back home myself. The pain was nothing like my vasectomy that I got done where I live. In Tn, the doctors that did not preform these type of surgery very often wanted 15,000 where that was way to much for my family. The way I look at it is if you have two gas stations across from each other, one with 5.00 gal with cheep gas and other with high octain at 3.00 gal, What would you do? So with Dr Sommers experience and knowing and great reviews don't be afraid to have your surgery there ... thank you Dr Sommers for everything! God bless you for what you do for families!!!

Very good experience. They were very concerned with patient pain and it was managed very well. Even though this procedure was longer than my original vasectomy, it was far less painful and a far greater experience. Thank you so much doc!

My experience was wonderful. Dr. Sommers and his staff was very easy to talk to. Dr. Sommers explained the entire surgery step by step. I couldn't have asked for a better Doctor and staff to handle my surgery. I'd recommend them to any one who was thinking about have a vesactomy reversed. I don't even know where to begin. They treated me like family once we walked in the door. I was nervous at first about the pain, but they eased my mind as soon as I walked in. I didn't have any discomfort through the entire procedure. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sommers and his nurse. He even called me afterwards to check on me and see if I had any questions. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I am lucky enough to only live 2 hours away, but would have traveled much further to see him. I still can't believe he is as affordable as he is. I was very happy with the experience at Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. My original vasectomy was mildly painful, as was the recovery which left residual pain for several months. Due to this I was very apprehensive about the pain of a reversal as well as undergoing the procedure with a local anesthesia. The vasectomy reversal procedure performed by Dr. Sommers was truly painless and was much quicker than I anticipated. The entire process took about 1 hour, and on the way home I can honestly say I was so happy I didn't waste thousands of dollars on a general anesthetic. Dr. Sommers and his staff were friendly, professional, and great! My wife and I are working towards starting our family, and look forward to one day sending in photos of our future children. I had a vasectomy 11 years ago. My wife and I have three boys combine from previous marriages but really wanted a baby together. The cost for vasectomy reversal in Illinois is outrageous so we had almost given up on the idea that having a baby together would be possible for us not only because of the cost but because it was a big risk seeing that my vasectomy was over 10 years ago. Then my wife found Midwest Vasectomy Reversal on Google. I have to admit, I was very skeptical. My wife read tons of reviews and did her research so we decided to go for it. Glad we did because everything about the experience was great! It was a four hour drive so we booked a two night hotel. We didn't even need the second night because I felt it would be better to take the drive while I still had anesthesia in my system. The doctor and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The procedure was quick and painless. Dr. Sommers talked through every step of the way so I felt very at ease. The recovery was painful which is to be expected. I would say I was sore for about 2 1/2 weeks. The best news of all though, is that my wife got pregnant two months later and is currently 20 weeks pregnant with a baby girl!

The surgery went better than I expected it to. It was virtually painless. Dr. Sommers was very thorough when explaining how the procedure was going to go. My entire surgery lasted only about an hour. My wife and I traveled 8 hours in our car and it was worth every minute of travel. We stayed at a local Marriott hotel the night before, and had an early morning appointment. Dr. Somers was extremely professional and knowledgeable as well as being easy to talk to. His staff is very courteous and everyone made my wife and I feel very at ease. The procedure was very comfortable, and I only had minor swelling and bruises afterward. I was surprised that the procedure was more comfortable than the original vasectomy. Dr. Somers was attentive to my feedback and provided answers to all my questions. He also followed up with me via phone over the next few days to make sure everything was going well. I would recommend him hands down to anyone. He is an incredible physician and performs top notch service. If you're on the fence about picking a physician for your reversal, I recommend Dr. Somers without any reservations.

I had my Reversal a year ago before I got engaged to be married. I wanted to make sure I had done everything I can to give my new wife the children she wanted and deserved. We had an initial reversal performed in Northwest Indiana, by a doctor in Merrillville, IN, and it did not work out. It was a bad experience. We decided to give it one more chance, and that's when we found Dr Sommers. He was very responsive via email and phone, and helped us feel comfortable that this 2nd time could work better than our first try. The procedure went great, the Doctor made me feel very comfortable, and was very supportive over the next few weeks. It was well worth the 6 hour drive.
