The entire experience was very pleasant. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to, explaining every step of the process. They made sure that I was comfortable the entire time I was there, and the pain during recovery was much less than I thought it would be.

i traveled from Niagara Falls NY.... I was a little nervous until I I got down to Dr. Sommers office, it was very clean and he explained everything clearly! I was so nervous. The whole experience was no more painful then my original vasectomy. Dr. Sommers staff was so nice and helpful and it was an amazing experience!!! I had my surgery on january 27, 2014 and my wife is pregnant as of March 8... I would recommend him to anyone!!! Dont second guess yourself if you was a reversal Dr. Sommers is amazing!

Three weeks and one day out, I feel great and empowered. I’ve been searching for years to find a good doctor who is good and affordable because I wanted to be returned to my old self without breaking the bank. The entire process with Dr. Sommers and staff was a breeze. They made you feel as if you were the only person they were dealing with and realized that your life was about to change with this procedure. They were kind, helpful and welcoming. Dr. Sommers made sure I was comfortable during the procedure and gave me all the necessary "tips and tricks" to deal with the recovery process. We arrived at 7:30 am and were out of there by 9:50am. He sent my wife to the pharmacy to get the prescriptions which made her time pass quickly as well. The low cost of the procedure definitely didn't mean he was skimping on anything. They were all very thorough with explaining everything and making everyone feel at home. Dr. Sommers texted me the next day to check on me, I even had to have some short term disability papers completed for my job as you're not allowed to lift more than 15lbs for 3 weeks after and Dr. Sommers was more than willing to help and stayed in contact with me. He and his staff are top notch professionals. We cannot wait until we're able to report more good news as a result of procedure.

We arrived and procedure was right on schedule and was done exactly how it was described. We only live about an hour away but we thought it was great how they could do everything for a low price compared to other intuitions. Being under local anesthesia was a little nerve racking but it really turned out great. I was "fixed" for 8 years and now my wife and I were able to conceive another baby within 5 months of the procedure.

I had my reversal one week ago today (Jan 20, 2014) and I was VERY happy with the entire experience. The office staff & Dr. Sommers were very polite & informative. The procedure itself seemed like it was over in no time. My biggest concern was the anesthesia but it was not a problem at all. Dr. Sommers called after two days to check my progress and I thought that was great for a doctor to do himself instead of having someone do it for him. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sommers and his staff.

Dr Sommers and his staff are some of the best providers I have ever worked with! I can not even put into words the amount of happiness we feel with going with them. They are so friendly and put you are ease. They treat you like you are family and are truly interested in your story and life and they care about the after math of the procedure as well. We were looking for an inexpensive way to get a reversal done and most places we could not afford. I found Midwest Vasectomy Reversals online and decided to go with them. I was nervous when I arrived for my appointment. The staff was so intuitive, they talked with me and eased my anxiety. The discomfort was not an issue thru the procedure. I have a small amount of bruising and following Dr.s orders. The Dr even called to check on me the next day and I had his personnel cell phone number in case I needed him before I left the office. Great staff.

We traveled 2 1/2 hours to see Dr. Sommers and could not have been more happy. Traveling back home afterwards was not an issue at all. Dr. Sommers prices are very reasonable and his office is great. Very great area of town. During the procedure my husband felt NO pain at all. He stated that the reversal was a breeze compared to the vasectomy. I was very pleased to have my reversal done with Dr. Sommers. When I had my vasectomy over 14 years ago, I had some minor complications that made me terrified to get anything done again. Dr. Sommers talked me through the entire process, and was very compassionate with our concerns of getting pregnant. During the procedure, he was always very concerned with how I was feeling, putting in more anesthetic when needed. I was comfortable the entire time. After the procedure, Dr. Sommers put the fluid samples under a microscope to show me. Sperm on both sides! Today is 2 weeks post vasectomy reversal and I am completely recovered. The recovery was a little easier than it was with the original vasectomy. One piece of advice I can pass on it to keep them iced down the first few days. It really helps with swelling and pain. I didn't have to take any of the pain medicine he prescribed. Ibuprofen, ice and rest is all I needed. I felt better about feeling some level of pain so I could be extra careful not to strain myself. We were kind of nervous about this at first mostly because we had to drive 4hrs. to get there. The office was very easy to find and also Dr. Summers and his staff made me and my wife very comfortable as soon as we walked in the office. The receptionist was very friendly. Dr. Summers was very thorough with the steps of the procedure during our pre-surgery meeting with him. While the surgery was taking place he and his assistant made me feel comfortable making small talk . Dr. Sommer made sure that I was not feeling any pain at all while during the procedure. I would recommend this office yo anyone I know looking to have this type of procedure ..

Because of the high prices locally, I chose to travel down to St. Louis from my home in Green Bay. I was so impressed with the personal attention. I felt like I was Dr. Sommers only patient. Everything was real relaxed and simple. He answered all my questions. Once on the table, I was very comfortable. Not once at any time during the surgery, did I feel any pain. And I was talking with Dr. Sommers and his nurse the whole time. Dr. Sommers also does a nice job of being available if you have any questions or concerns after the surgery. He sent me a text back within minutes with an answer to my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Sommers to change your life back to the way God created us.

This was a great experience for my wife and I so far. We drove in from out of town the day before, stayed locally in a hotel and went in for the procedure the next morning. Dr. Sommers met with us prior and explained the procedure clearly and answered all questions. The procedure was right there in the privacy of the small clinic. The local anesthesia worked perfectly and I could only feel light pressure, but no pain. This was probably better than going to the dentist, because I was able to have a conversation the whole time. We were finished in less than two hours and on our way to pick up the antibiotics that were prearranged and ready for pickup right down the road. I'm still healing up for the required two weeks and will be ready to send information when we are expecting. The whole thing couldn't have been easier.

We went so see Dr. Sommers in March 2013 for a reversal and now it is the first week of November and we are 12 weeks pregnant! Making the trip (by car) from St. Paul/Mpls to St. Louis to see Dr. Sommers for the reversal was the best decision we've ever made. The usual or expected anxieties were not far from our minds...what was this guy like? How can he charge half as much for the same as the doctor back home? Did this mean he did half as good of a job? Is the local anesthetic enough or should I have chosen someone at a hospital with general anesthetics? Would I be able to get home comfortably? All our worries and troubled thoughts were eased by Dr. Sommers and his staff. Dr. Sommers is professional yet has a quality about him that is comforting. It felt more like a friend from the moment I shook his hand, than a man I was meeting for the first time! Any and all questions were answered before the surgery took place. The surgery was explained in simple terms not medical jargon. The local anesthetic was definitely enough pain control for the surgery, I was quite comfortable the whole time. The administering of the anesthetic was actually painless & easy. I was allowed to "keep in touch" with my wife on how I was doing & what was going on via our cell phones. Dr. Sommers chatted with me during the surgery, also keeping me comfortable. The surgery went well and by no means was the low cost of surgery signs of an inferior surgery. The 8+ hour trip home was comfortable (as can be) and I am recovering. I would highly recommend Dr. Sommers to anyone considering a vasectomy reversal. His skill, knowledge & bedside manner are amazing and he has a top notch staff to back him up.

I was very nervous. But it was a very comfortable experience. Dr. Summers made me feel relaxed and there was virtualy no pain. We were traveling from out of town. They recommended a nice hotel close to the office with plenty of things to do in town. We would highly recommended Dr. Summers he takes a personal interest in his patients. My wife and I came in to town a couple of days early to relax and get the lay of the land. We had a few questions prior to arrival and had great communication with the office that put us at ease. On the day of the surgery I made sure to wear comfortable loose fitting sweat pants (and some warm socks). My wife went out for the antibiotic and pain medication while the procedure was performed. It was uncomfortable at first as the local anesthesia was applied. The pain was really minimal and soon I was numb and did not feel a thing other than a little pressure as Dr. Sommers worked. Both he and his nurse were very professional. We all talked the whole time. I even exchanged a few texts with my wife. When it was over, I was a little sore, but I took medications as directed and slept. My wife went on a couple of food runs and we stayed in the area for a couple more days before driving home. I had the procedure on Thursday and we drove home on Sunday. I’m two weeks out now. The stitches have disappeared. I am recovering great. My wife and I are excited for the possibilities. I have been very satisfied with Dr. Sommers and his staff. If you are serious about having a positive experience with a great doctor who charges a fair price, this is your place. I wish you success!

We traveled from Kansas City to see Dr. Sommers. We made the trip the night before to make our morning appointment. The office and staff are so very friendly and knowledgeable. Tara answered all of our questions over the phone before we came in. We took advantage of the $200 discount by paying in cash the day of surgery. The price in no way reflects a lack of quality. Dr. Sommers was forthcoming in answering all of our questions and easing our concerns prior to, during, and following surgery. While I was in surgery, my wife was able to make a quick trip to pick up my antibiotics and painkillers, along with some frozen peas. She and I kept in constant contact via text messages all throughout the procedure. The local anesthesia was plenty sufficient to control pain during and after surgery. After going through this procedure with such ease, I can't imagine why someone would need general anesthesia or an overnight hospital stay. I was comfortable with Dr. Sommers' calm, relaxed bed-side manner. He performed the surgery with no struggle or anxiety whatsoever. His reassuring nature and professionalism set me at ease. I was in no pain throughout the surgery. We drove home that afternoon before the local anesthesia wore off. I recommend this option if you do not need to fly. I was able to limit my mobility by sitting in the car immediately following the procedure and all the way home had frozen peas to ice the area, and was comfortable. The pain medication and peas made recovery comfortable. There was some swelling and soreness, but nothing meds and peas couldn't help with. It was definitely helpful to have my wife take care of me so I could remain sedentary for the first few days. I was only off work for four days, and back at full functioning within two weeks of the operation. Overall, it is as good an experience as you can have. It was worth the trip, and every penny. We are very grateful for Dr. Sommers and his team. We look forward to sharing our news when we are expecting! Thank you Dr. Sommers!

This is Dave's wife, I just wanted to tell our review. We drove 5 hours to this doctor because we liked the fact that Dr. Sommers has had a reversal himself so he understands the importance of performing this for other families. We also felt a connection soon after being on his website knowing he has God in his life, we felt he had compassion vs just a job. I love the price, which at first i was weary, now that we got it done I am so happy we didn't spend an extra 5-7K for a little nap. Dave was very comfortable throughout the procedure, he kept saying that Dr. Sommers made sure he was completely numb and comfortable every couple minutes. Dr. Sommers did a great job over all!
