After seeing quite a few favorable mentions in the various forums about men desiring to reverse their vasectomies because they believed that they had made a decision that was not in harmony with God's Word, my wife and I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Sommers. We live 9 hours away from St. Louis, so we drove down the day before the surgery. Dr. Sommers and his staff are very friendly and professional, and helped to put us at ease instantly. I was skeptical about the amount of pain that would be associated with the surgery, but even though it was longer than the vasectomy surgery, my comfort level during and after the surgery was MUCH better - and I'm a wimp when it comes to pain! I had to be back to my desk job the day after surgery, so we drove back the 9 hours, and again I believe that that was only possible because of the excellent care that I received, and the care that Dr. Sommers took to make sure that my pain was well managed. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sommers to anyone, and in fact have already talked to several people about looking into their own reversals.

My boyfriend Terry and I had an incredible experience with Dr Sommers and his team. We drove down to st Louis for the surgery from Chicago suburbs. Terry was very nervous remembering how his initial surgery had been. He was pleased to talk to Dr Sommers and find there were no needles for anesthesia. Dr Sommers walked us through the whole process and welcomed any concerns and questions that we had. Surgery was 2 weeks ago and bruising is gone, and soreness is pretty much gone minus a reminder here and there that he even had surgery. If you are looking to do this surgery its definitely worth it to look into this practice and Dr Sommers. Professional. Personable. And overall a great guy! Keeping our fingers crossed we can conceive sooner than later!

We are grateful for your service. We decided to have a vasectomy after our 5th child and then felt called to have one more, so we looked into adoption. Adoption is not an option and would take fostering before adoption or straight adoption would be too costly. At a hospital a reversal would cost around 13,000 or more and that was not doable. The reversal was actually easier than the vasectomy itself. Thank you all for being so open with us and easy to understand and work with. It is now week 3 and I have healed well and feel well.

My experience was incredible. The city of St. Louis had experienced a wide-spread power outage the morning of my procedure (which, I am told, is extremely rare). Dr. Sommers continually updated me on the status of getting started. My procedure ended up starting about an hour and a half after my original scheduled time due to the power outage, but the staff remained very calm, professional, and reassuring. The procedure took less than two hours, and in spite of any nervousness I had experienced beforehand, the staff made me feel very relaxed and well taken care of. Regularly during the procedure itself, they made sure I was aware of what they were doing and checked in with me to see how I was doing. There were only two instances during the entire procedure during which I felt any sort of pain, and it was mild and of very short duration. Dr. Sommers even checked in with me later in the day as I was on my way home. I would recommend this facility to absolutely anyone who wants another chance at fatherhood. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and the cost was less than half as much as it would have been elsewhere.

My experience at Midwest Vasectome in Chesterfield,Mo was awesome.Dr.Sommers and his nurse was very professional and they made me feel so comfortable during my procedure.I had very little pain and it didn't take very long to do.They did a wonderful job explaining everything they did and answered any questions I had.I recommend every man that wants to try to have children again,to come to this facility.You will not regret your decision.Also the price is very affordable and the best thing is that he doesn't put you to sleep,he uses a series of air shots,truly amazing.The last thing I would like to say is thank u from the bottom of my heart that I get a chance with my new wife to have another child.

Despite our concern about the low price and simplicity of the procedure, we were very pleased with our whole experience at Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. I had a vasectomy done in April 2009 and 8 years later in May 2017 decided to have it reversed. The reversal was less painful and overall easier than the vasectomy itself. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We conceived at the end of July 2017 just short of three months after the procedure!!!!!! We are so very thankful to Dr. Sommers and his staff. We couldn't be more happy. We are now expecting our 5th child in April!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband had his vasectomy reversal done June 8th, 2014 after over 5 years with the vasectomy. We were excited to start our journey to add another baby to our family. Dr. Sommers and his staff made this experience so much easier than anticipated. They explained everything thoroughly and kept my husband comfortable and informed during the procedure. They were always so kind when taking the time to answer all the questions I had prior to the procedure by phone. My husband was extremely hesitant about the local anesthesia, but he said he had less pain and a much easier recovery than he expected. It worked! It had been a little over four years since I had my vasectomy done. My fiancé and I wanted to try for another child so she turned to the internet and found Midwest Vasectomy reversals. The price was right and we set an appointment in October 2016. The procedure was not bad and the recovery was quick. It's been 5 months and we just found out this week that we are pregnant!!!!! I was a little scared to set up an appointment like this online with someone I've never met. But once we arrived everything went great. Everyone made us feel comfortable and explained how the procedure would go. The actual operation went very well and was pain-free. Recovery time was exactly how Dr. Sommers described it. The first few days was a little uncomfortable, but less than I expected. I would recommend Dr. Sommers and his team to anyone interested in this procedure.

Dr. Sommers and his staff were great. They made sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. The pain during the procedure was minimal and the days following during my recovery were also tolerable. My vasectomy was June of 2012 and I had the reversal January of 2016. It took my wife and I a full year to conceive and we are now expecting a baby October 2017. Even many months after my reversal Dr. Sommers and his staff were very helpful and promptly responded to emails. I would recommend to anyone!

I was skeptical about this place when my wife found them. However, after reading through reviews, I decided to go to them. Everything is just how everyone said it would be. All of the staff were extremely nice and made us feel comfortable. Dr. Sommers is very good at what he does and I was surprised at how comfortable I felt. I did have some pain after however, I was able to make the 5 hour ride home with my trusty bag of peas. It has been 4 months since the procedure and I have recovered nicely. No pregnancy news yet but, we are hopeful.

Dear Men, Listen up! This procedure, performed by Dr. Sommers, was a whole bunch of worry over nothing! For weeks I worried, and even found myself becoming more and more nervous the closer the appointment drew near. I worried about: pain, embarrassment, pain, the low cost of the procedure, pain, the travel back and forth to his office, and um-- pain. Heck, after reading about the procedure, from men who had the procedure under full anesthesia, why wouldn't I worry? I believe the local "spray type injections" that Dr. Sommers uses helps make recovery easier. Seriously, after the procedure you get up and walk out of his office-- not feeling much at all. It was way less painful than the original vesectomy itself. As for the embarrassment I was worried about-- pfft. Dr. Sommers and his staff are totally professional. I read horror stories about other men's procedure's where men were: exposed from the waist down for hours in front of everyone walking by, men ridiculed for expressing their pain, and men laughed at for being so nervous. This is not the case at Midwest. Not even close. What to expect and what to do: 1. Dr. Sommers will explain everything in detail when you arrive. Listen carefully and ask whatever you want to ask. 2. Your wife will run some errands while the procedure is performed (pain meds and antibiotics) 3. The hardest part starts. Taking a preop antibiotic, undressing from waist down, laying on the table, Dr Sommers cleans the area, and the local injections are given (they don't hurt, it's the anticipation--after the first injection you don't feel much). 4. The procedure is done. It takes 2-3 hours. It's over before you know it. Feels like an hour! 5. You get dressed and Dr. Sommers again meets with you and your wife. He discusses the dos and donts of post op. 6. You go home and rest. USE THE FROZEN BAG OF PEAS TRICK THE FIRST DAY! Take pain meds as needed. There is a little soreness and bruising. 7. Rest for a few days, and take it easy the rest of the week. After 7-10 days all the soreness and bruising is gone. I know pain is relative-- seriously, it's not bad. I can't speak for the effectiveness of the procedure as it's only been 12 days. But, I would highly recommend Midwest Vesectomy Reversal for the procedure. Men--no worries! Hello! I wanted to tell everyone how great Dr. Sommers and his staff is. They were so kind and explained everything! We had our procedure done November 27, 2016 and we are now expecting! We are 6 weeks along!! It took just a few short weeks and we were able to conceive. For those of you that are skeptical like ourselves on making such a big decision it is was well worth it. We were 6 years out from when the vasectomy was done then had the reversal and pregnant within weeks.. Good luck to you all who are trying to decide if this the way to go, but if you do Dr. Sommers is the best at what he does.

My husband had is vasectomy reversal on January 12, 2017. His original vasectomy was quite the ordeal and we both had reservations with him moving forward with the reversal. We met with Dr. Sommers on Monday January 9, 2017 and it just happened that he had an opening that Thursday. We decided to book it the next day. We arrived early, Dr. Sommers explained everything thoroughly. I left to get prescriptions while they started. When I got back I was so relieved to see that my husband not only wasn't in extreme pain, he felt no pain (quite opposite from his vasectomy when he couldn't get numb). The surgery took about 2 hours and we were on our way home. My husband rested the next 5 days and was able to return to work the following Tuesday. We're not sure if it worked, we won't be trying for another baby for a few months but we're hopeful and either way, this was honestly a healing experience.

Staff was very welcoming when we arrived. The team did a wonderful job preparing us in advance with a detailed set of directions to follow. The doctor was thorough with his explanation of the procedure and what to expect afterwards. The local procedure was quite tolerable. I am 8 days out now and healing well. Looking forward to the end of the 2 weeks. Hope to have a success story within a year!

Surgery went quicker than expected. It also didn't hurt nearly as much as the vasectomy itself. Dr. Sommers was an amazing doctor. I would highly recommend him.

I was nervous going into the reversal. My vasectomy was an unpleasant experience and thought that the reversal would be the same or worse. Because of this I was hesitant using local anesthesia, but it turned out to be the right decision. Dr. Sommers did a fantastic job, and the surgery was pain free. It saved a lot of money and was a quick in and out procedure. I would strongly recommend this clinic and physician to anybody looking to have a reversal.

I am from central Indiana and traveled about 3 1/2 hours to the office. When my wife and I decided that we wanted another baby we thought that it was going to be financially impossible. When we heard about Midwest we were so excited to have something within a reasonable budget and so close! We drove down in the morning, my surgery took a little over two hours, and then we drove home and we're back in time for dinner. Doctor Sommers was extremely professional and kept me talking and comfortable. The local anesthesia did hurt, but just for a moment and then I could feel nothing but a little pressure. A few days after the procedure he called me personally to see how I was doing and I was very impressed that the experience was so personal. I want to thank him and his staff for making the experience as comfortable as it could be and for providing my wife and I with an opportunity to expand our family at a price that we could afford.

My vasectomy was performed while under general anesthesia... I was knocked-out :) Naturally, I had tremendous concerns about doing the reversal while awake. To my surprise (and satisfaction) the procedure was faster and easier to endure at Midwest Vasectomy Reversals than my initial procedure. AND my recovery was faster. Staff was excellent and competent, and the cost was well under half of what the doctor who performed my initial vasectomy was going to charge. If you are going to get a VR done - there is LITERALLY no compelling reason to use anyone other than Midwest. You will get exactly what you want, executed well, and at a reasonable price-point.

Dr Sommers made this procedure as painless as possible in every way. He and his staff keep costs reasonable, and made the whole experience a positive one. I never thought I would have a reversal done. Dr Sommers gave me a chance to expand my family again. I cant thank him enough. If you are considering a reversal, they are simply the best.
