No pain with the surgery or during the recovery, a more pleasant experience than when I had the actual vasectomy. Doctor was very professional and very much an advocate for his patient. You could tell from the minute we got there that he wanted only the best for me as his patient and he wanted to put my wife at ease and make sure she fully understood the surgery and the recovery. During the actual surgery the doctor explained everything before he did it and made sure i was completely comfortable. We had about a 2 1/2 hour car ride home and had no pain or discomfort.

Me and my wife came across Dr Sommers just looking and researching on line not going to lie at first we thought it was sketchy due to the price being so low but we like Dr sommers agree that you shouldn’t put such a high price on something that’s not guaranteed to work.Everything went soo smooth from start to finish we made the appointment paid the scheduling fee and were good to go.As soon as we showed up we were taken in didn’t wait or anything Dr spoke to us and was very detailed about the whole thing.We highly highly recommended if it’s in your plans to get a reversal everything will run smoothly from surgery to pharmacy that’s Infront so u can walk and take the prescription.If you have any concerns the Dr keeps in touch with you my experience was just great!Hope we get some good news soon!!

Dr. Sommers and his operation are very professional, conscientious and understanding toward nervous clients. The entire operation was around 1.5 hours and the only discomfort experienced was from my own nervous state. Having a vasovasectomy performed at MWVR was nothing like my original vasectomy in terms of discomfort. The procedure was efficiently and professional performed. The procedure was 100% painless. The doctor and his staff were great. Fantastic customer service throughout the entire process. All questions from me and my wife were answered professionally and in a timely manner. My recovery was rougher than expected but very manageable. The doctor did warn me of the “what ifs” ahead of time, so there was no surprises. Overall the entire process start to finish was way better than I expected it to be.

To say I was a little nervous would be an under statement. Thinking about being awake seemed un bearable. Once we got started though, I was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't feel anything. It was as enjoyable experience as surgery can be. I highly recommend Dr. Sommers!

Don't let things like (Coming from out of town to see a doctor Their low price being a sign of low quality Local anesthesia being enough to control pain) scare you. I was that person even walking through the door. But after I was in, my mind shifted quickly. I came in the night before and stayed in a hotel 5 minutes away with my wife. When we walked in, we immediately noticed how nice the clinic is and how kind and attentive they are. They wasted no time getting me in, doing the pre op debrief, and into the room for the operation. EVERYTHING was perfectly smooth. I had nearly NO pain throughout the operation and nearly none post op. He was very precise on everything, explained everything before and during. Followed through with the check in post op. What can I say? I'd recommend any man to use MVR. It was actually that good of an experience! Me and my wife are excited to see how the process progresses towards our desire to grow our family and I intend to update the review once we know, but all signs are pointing to success! Honestly, I was a nervous wreck thinking about getting a reversal done. My vasectomy 11 years ago was not a good experience so I was not looking forward to being in all that pain again. Here I am 5 days after my vasectomy reversal and I am feeling good. I'm going to go into a little detail since I know my wife & I read many testimonials and they helped us out. The day of the procedure Dr Sommers met with us in his office, he was very professional, explained everything leaving us with no questions to ask. During the procedure I couldn't feel anything because I was completely numb which was great. Dr Sommers made conversation with me the whole time and let me know what he was doing as well. I text my wife with updates along the way. The actual procedure took a little over an hour. So thankful to have found Dr Sommers and appreciate him keeping his costs down low so we are able to hopefully watch out family grow soon. I hope in a few months I am able to write another review that the reversal worked and we are expecting.

5 stars! I was extremely nervous going to have this reversal done. I don’t like surgery or needles or anything. Dr. Somers did a excellent job he was able to calm me down and make me comfortable with no pain during surgery. I’m on week 2 of recovery and had little to no pain and minor swelling. It had been 4 years since my first vasectomy and my wife and I decided we want to add more children to our family of 4. Thank you!

My experience with Dr. Sommers has been tremendous. My vasectomy ended up being a difficult and somewhat painful process that lasted weeks. I was nervous about my reversal but the entire process and procedure was remarkable. The personal focus on wanting me to understand everything prior to and after the procedure helped to reassure me. Unlike my vasectomy, this procedure was painless and relatively quick. I drove myself home and iced as instructed. In the first two days I took ibuprofen once. Very little swelling or bruising developed. I am still following the orders to take it easy, but it has been only five days and I physically feel almost one hundred percent.

Coming from out of town --> not a biggie for us. Once you get into the nearby area, it was clear that we were not in a bad place/area. There was plenty of hotels close. We stayed in the Drury Inn near all of the shops. Location was easy to find. Low price --> I too wondered this at the very beginning. Dr. Sommers' discussion with me about how with his technique, local anesthesia would be fine and general anesthesia would be unnecessary helped me understand the reason for differences in price. I don't know if that is something you could capture in your website/preoperative procedure, but that may settle those nerves. Local anesthesia enough to control pain --> I think this one is probably challenging to talk guys into for a couple reasons, but mostly because the local anesthesia discussion is hard to believe no matter what surgical procedure you're talking about. It's almost like they need to see it. Too bad you can't take video of someone doing it under local and attach a link to a video or something, seeing a patient sitting there hands behind their head, chilling and talking with Dr. Sommers the whole time. Haha! But in all seriousness and honesty, the process was very easy, from finding the website and starting the process to showing up and the straight forward, clear cut preoperative discussion. I also liked how the postoperative communication was as simple as possible, but 100% direct with Dr. Sommers. That gave me confidence that any complications were seen by him immediately. I think that was a concern of mine, but was mitigated very easily when we did text back and forth when needed. Thank you, hopefully we'll be sending you baby pics in a few months!

Comprehensive directions on how to prepare were provided in advance and all questions were answered by the doctor before the surgery. Having the local anesthesia administered was very nearly painless. No problem at all. I had a vasectomy reversal in June. The procedure was very successful as my wife is 8 weeks pregnant! The Dr and nurse made me feel very comfortable. I had a difficult recovery with a hematoma but the Dr was very responsive to concerns and helpful and obviously it did not impact the outcome of the procedure. The quality of care I received from DR. Sommers and his staff was top notch. I highly recommend them! I experienced very little discomfort during the procedure and I was easily able to drive 2 hours home after. I took 2 doses of Ibuprofen at home as a precautionary measure. I really have had very little discomfort to speak of. I am writing this the next morning and I feel great! Taking it easy as advised for a few days.

It has been more than 10 years since my vasectomy (late 2009). I remember when the procedure was over, I was told "keep those shorts pulled up tight," given sort of a pat on the back and then the door shut behind me. We traveled around 400 miles one way to have this procedure done. I was very nervous going into it since my vasectomy was done five years prior and I was put to sleep for it. The staff was super nice and extremely Good. They talked to me during the procedure so there was no surprises as to what was going on or what was going to happen. In writing this review, i wanted to wait a couple weeks, my procedure was done on August 18th of 2021. Just to ensure everything could be evaluated during the healing process. So onto my story and experience with Dr Sommers. I had my vasectomy done almost 8 years ago, so obviously concerns for a reversal were brought up when discussing things with my wife, such as risks and even if it would be possible to be done. After spending some time researching online, this facility along with a few others were at the top of the list. A few things that made me choose Dr Sommers. One being the amount of reviews on the website and second the cost of the procedure. When calling around almost everywhere wanted 5-15k for it. Not to mention what clinics i did call didn't have many reviews to go off. I made the choice to choose Dr Sommers, the process was quite easy to get in. I sent over a form, paid my deposit and really that was that. On the day of the procedure, i arrived early and was greeted by the receptionist. Then after a short talk i went back in to see Dr Sommers. When speaking to him, while he does speak quickly and direct. He does explain and break down what will happen and the process. He answered any questions I had during the discussion. So onto the procedure, I brought my headphones so i could listen to music while the procedure went on. But they weren't needed as himself, his nurse and myself were all engaged in conversation during the procedure. As far as pain goes, i cant speak for anyone else. Before you begin he will numb the outside of the area first, by injecting a numbing agent into or on your skin. At most, this felt like a small flick of a rubber band on your skin but after the second one. I hardly felt anything at all for the remaining ones. This is done on both sides as well for anyone curious. Then once that is done I was injected with the actual local numbing agent into my area. I didn't experience any pain during this. Maybe slight pressure if i can recall correctly. Once he began, it was really quite easy after that. I didn't experience any pain while it was going on. All i can recall is that at one point i felt some slight pressure on my left side, but this was not pain. It lasted maybe a few seconds and when i brought this to Dr Sommers attention he stopped immediately to ensure i wasn't experiencing pain in the area. The whole process only took maybe an hour half. Once he was done, he helped me off the table then allowed me to look through a microscope at a sample of sperm taken from each side. Which to my pleasure i seen plenty. All and all my experience went smooth and effortless. Once i got home, each side of my testicles were tender for a few days but that is normal considering what all goes on down there to reverse it back. The area was swollen for a day maybe and i had bruising along each side but this is normal i would imagine. My job allowed me to take the necessary time off work to ensure proper healing. I stayed away from any lifting really and just lounged around the house. I would say this helped contribute to my easy and fast healing. All and all, i cant say enough how simple and painless my experience with Dr Sommers was. I am thoroughly glad i went with him. Had a good experience at Midwest Vasectomy Reversals. A significant concern was whether I would be able to drive back home afterwards. Due to the Covid situation, we were on the fence on whether my partner would accompany me for support. I ended up making the trip solo, and the 5 hour drive after the procedure was no problem. Pain was minimal - similar to the vasectomy, the worst pain was the initial anesthetic, which was slightly worse than being snapped with a rubber band.
